COLLEEN D. BRATKOVICH is an attorney at Zacharia Brown and practices in the areas of Medicaid planning and eligibility, veterans' benefits, and related estate planning and estate administration issues. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Ms. Bratkovich is also accredited by the Veteran's Administration to represent veterans in their claims before the department. She earned her undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University and her law degree from Duquesne University. Ms. Bratkovich is a member of NAELA and PAELA.
STACEY L. JANSSEN is of counsel with Sandberg, Phoenix & von Gontard P.C., practicing in the areas of estate planning, probate administration, fiduciary litigation, elder and disability law, in both Kansas and Missouri. Ms. Janssen co-founded the Kansas Elder Law Hotline, which continues to serve thousands in Kansas and their families yearly. She served as an intern supervisor and guest lecturer for the University of Kansas Elder Law Clinic and was a co-author of the adult care homes chapter of the Kansas Bar Association's Long-Term Care Handbook. Ms. Janssen is a frequent speaker at community and continuing legal education event speaking on the topics of estate planning, Medicaid, patient rights and ethics. She is a member of the Estate Planning Society of Kansas City, Johnson County Bar Association (Board of Directors and chair of the Probate Bench Bar Committee), the Kansas Bar Association (Elder and Disability Issues and Legal Aid committees), The Missouri Bar, the Kansas Women Attorneys Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the National Academy of the Elder Law Attorneys and a founding member and officer in the Kansas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Ms. Janssen earned her B.A. degree from the University of Kansas and her J.D. degree from the University of Kansas.
SUSIE McGREGOR-HUYER, R.N., M.S.N., is the founder and principal of Medical Damages, based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Medical Damages is a life care planning and nurse consulting business designed to assist attorneys and insurance companies in looking both forward and backward in medically related cases in the areas of personal injury, workers' compensation and medical malpractice. Ms. McGregor has both her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing. Post graduate educational experience includes legal nurse consulting, forensic nursing, Medicare set asides, nurselife care planning, geriatrics and case management. Ms. McGregor also has experience as a paramedic, emergency and critical care nursing, and is currently clinically active in hospice and assisted living/memory care. Affiliations include American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners, International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, Juris Education, Research and Knowledge, and PATH International. She is a frequent lecturer to paralegals and attorneys in the areas of nursing, medical records analysis and ethics.
