RENE CALABRESE is an attorney admitted to practice in the state of Missouri, and is the director of commercial services for Secured Title of Kansas City. She previously served as a commercial underwriter for Chicago Title Insurance Company covering three states, and has more than 10 years of experience in complex commercial transactions nationwide. Her main areas of practice include real estate and title insurance, and her previous career was as an environmental consultant. Ms. Calabrese is a member of the ABA, State and Local Law Section (Environmental Law) and Real Property Section; Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association; The Missouri Bar; KCRAR; and CCIM. Ms. Calabrese is a previous lecturer for the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, as well as National Business Institute, and regularly presents on topics related to title insurance and real estate law. She earned her B.S. degrees from Missouri State University and her J.D. degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City, with certification in environmental and land use planning law.

CHERYL COWHERD is senior underwriting counsel for Agents National Title Insurance Company. She has been in the title insurance business for more than 25 years, with extensive experience in many aspects of the industry including underwriting, search, exam, and escrow (both commercial and residential). Ms. Cowherd has worked as a title agent and, prior to working for Agents National Title Insurance Company, she worked for a national title insurance underwriter, both as underwriting counsel and agency account manager. Ms. Cowherd is a member of the American Land Title Association and serves on both the Title Counsel Committee and the Education Committee. She is a member of the Missouri Land Title Association in which she serves on the Education Committee and PAC Committee. In addition, the Missouri Land Title Association honored her as the 2016 Title Person of the Year. Ms. Cowherd is a member of the Kansas Land Title Association and is on its legislative and education committees, and is a member of the Nebraska Land Title Association and serves on its legislative committee. She is also a member of The Missouri Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and The Association of Women Lawyers. Ms. Cowherd graduated with a bachelor’s degree from William Jewell College, she then received her Juris Doctorate degree from St. Louis University School of Law.

DON F. DAGENAIS is a member of the Kansas City, Missouri law firm of Lathrop & Gage LLP, where he specializes in commercial real estate purchase, sale, mortgage, lease, development, management, and land use projects for commercial developers, builders, investors, condominium developers, banks, mortgage lenders, and property managers. With more than 40 years of experience in his field, Mr. Dagenais is a frequent guest speaker before groups interested in real estate development and management, such as the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), Kansas Land Title Association, and others. He is a lecturer of seminars for attorneys on advanced real estate law for professional organizations such as The Missouri Bar, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, National Business Institute, and civic boards and organizations. Mr. Dagenais is an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School. He is a member of The Missouri Bar (member, Section of Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law) and the American Bar Association. Mr. Dagenais earned his B.A. degree from Grinnell College and his J.D. degree from Cornell University.
