JULIA B. CHASE is an attorney with The Law Offices of Julia Best Chase, P.A., in Tampa. Ms. Chase was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1986, the New York Bar in 1987, The Florida Bar in 1987, and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida in 1988. She received a B.A. degree in biology from Goucher College in 1982 and her J.D. degree from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1986. Her work experience includes: Hillsborough County assistant state attorney (1987-1997) and auxiliary instructor for the Florida Highway Patrol (1988-1990). Ms. Chase worked for two and a half years at a criminal defense firm, then opened her own practice in 2000. She became a certified Chapter 39 volunteer guardian ad litem in 2016. She received the Theodore Millison Professionalism Award in 2016. Ms. Chase has been a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association since 1987, (past chair of the Family law Section); the Stann W. Givens Family Law Inn of Court since 1997, (past Program and Membership chair); Next Generation Divorce (chair of the Modest Means Committee); the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Florida Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Tampa. She has given multiple seminars and radio talk shows speaking on various topics of family law and collaborative divorce; and is a published author of a book entitled: Champions of Collaborative Divorce. In her spare time, Ms. Chase loves to garden, raise backyard chickens, make beaded necklaces, enjoys Zumba, and has been an avid SCUBA diver since 1979, having attained the level of a PADI master diver in 1987.
J.J. DAHL is the owner and managing attorney of Dahl Family Law Group in Clermont, Florida. She practices exclusively in the area of marital and family law in Lake County. Ms. Dahl is Lake County’s first board certified marital and family law attorney and the only fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in the entire Fifth Judicial Circuit. She was selected to the 2013 Florida Family Law Super Lawyer’s list and has remained there since. She is past president of the Lake County Family Law Bar Association; past secretary of the Lake County Bar Association, past Executive Council member of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar; and past vice chair of the Fifth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Committee. Ms. Dahl still actively participates in these organizations, as well as the Central Florida Family Law Inns of Court. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of South Lake County. She was previously on the Board of Directors for Legal Community Services of Mid-Florida and has received several pro bono awards from Mid-Florida and the Florida Supreme Court.
DIANE B. McWHIRTER has been an attorney in the Orlando area since 1983. Currently, she practices probate, guardianship, and bankruptcy law as a sole practitioner. Ms. McWhirter has been certified by the Florida Supreme Court in family and county law mediation since 1991 and since 2010 in circuit civil mediation. Ms. McWhirter has lectured and written articles on legal professionalism, family, probate, guardianship, mediation, and juvenile law topics. She is the past chair of the Orange County Bar Association's Elder Law Committee and of its Estate Guardianship and Trust Committee, and the past vice-chair of its Law and Education Committee. She earned her B.A. degree from Duke University and her J.D. degree from the University of Florida, College of Law.
BRANDON TYSON is a sole practitioner with the Tyson Law Firm, LLC. He practices primarily in the areas of family law, probate, guardianships, estate planning, and appeals. Mr. Tyson earned his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Central Florida; and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the Fredric G. Levin School of Law at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He is a member of The Florida Bar and has successfully represented clients in the District Court of Appeals for the state of Florida.
