Dr. Neuharth wrote the national bestseller If You Had Controlling Parents: How to Make Peace with Your Past and Take Your Place in the World (HarperCollins, 1998), based on original research with adults raised in narcissistic and controlling family systems. He writes as an expert blogger on narcissism for both PsychologyToday. com and PsychCentral.com.. Dr. Neuharth is a frequent presenter to both professional and consumer audiences, and has appeared on national media including Oprah, Good Morning America and CNN. Based in the San Francisco Bay area, Dr. Neuharth holds licenses as a marriage and family therapist in California, Florida, Texas, and Virginia. He is also a trained family law mediator in California.
