MELANIE M. MULCAHY is a member of The Derbes Law Firm, LLC, where her main practice areas include commercial litigation and transactions, representing clients across the business law spectrum, in matters including contract drafting and negotiation, breach of contract litigation, mergers and acquisitions, stock and asset sales and purchases, entity selection, entity startup and dissolution, and member/shareholder disputes; construction law; and employment law. Ms. Mulcahy is also a mediator, listed on the approved register of civil mediators maintained by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association. She received her B.A. degree from Tulane University's Newcomb College and her J.D. degree from Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Ms. Mulcahy is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Jefferson Bar Association, and the New Orleans Bar Association. She previously served in several capacities with the Louisiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
