MELANIE R. CLARK is of counsel with Stoel Rives LLP, in Salt Lake City. She is a member of the firm’s real estate group and focuses her practice on project development, including resorts, mixed-use condominiums, timeshare and fractional programs, and condominium hotels. Ms. Clark has assisted her clients in a broad range of real estate transactions, providing start-to-finish legal counsel beginning with initial land acquisition and entitlements to construction completion and operation or sale. She is a member of the Utah State Bar. Ms. Clark received her B.S. degree, cum laude, from Utah State University; and earned her J.D. degree, highest honors, from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law.
MERCEDES G. HALE is the managing attorney of the firm. She has been practicing law in the Tampa Bay area for more than 20 years, and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Florida and is fluent in Spanish. Ms. Hale has represented many real estate brokerages and has vast experience handling real estate-related matters, both on the transactional side and on the litigation side. She has extensive experience handling jury trials, bench trials and arbitrations. Ms. Hale has successfully represented clients in a variety of commercial litigation cases, including construction-related disputes, real estate-related disputes and landlord-tenant disputes. She has also successfully represented clients in complex business matters involving trademark infringement claims, copyright infringement claims, franchising disputes, antitrust disputes, unfair completion disputes, including covenants not to compete, and other business torts. Ms. Hale currently serves as counsel for the Central Pasco Association of Realtors. She is a member of The Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Hillsborough Association of Women Lawyers, the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, and the Bay Area Real Estate Council. Ms. Hale was appointed by The Florida Bar's Board of Governors to serve on the Joint Realtor Attorney Committee of The Florida Bar. She is also a member of the Rotary Club of Tampa, serving on the Board of Directors; serves on the Board of Directors of Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School; and is on the Board of Directors of the Wesley Chapel Chamber and serves as its treasurer.
