KRISTIN HARMON LANG is a partner at Lang Law Firm, P.C., in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ms. Lang started practicing in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she focused her practice on conventional residential closings and builder/developer work. She later developed an expertise in foreclosure and REO closings, and is a North Carolina board certified specialist in real property law for residential, business, commercial, and industrial transactions. Ms. Lang is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, Mecklenburg Real Property Council, North Carolina Bar Association, and Charlotte Women’s Bar. She has also served as the CREW Community Relations Committee co-chair. She received her B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and her J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
BRANDON SPLEEN is an attorney with Hutchens Law Firm, where he practices in the areas of creditors’ rights and real estate law. Mr. Spleen has experience in property law, including easements, state and federal liens, foreclosures, mobile home liens, mortgages, and property ownership. He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, The West Virginia Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Mr. Spleen received his J.D. degree from Duquesne University School of Law, and his undergraduate degrees in political science and economics from Duquesne University. While in law school, he was a member of the Corporate Law Society, the Energy & Mineral Law Society, and the International Law Society.
EDMUND T. URBAN is the president of Urban Title Company, Inc., where he offers real estate services, real estate title, searches, title transfers, title examination, title closing and insurance services. He has served on multiple committees of the Real Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, as president of the North Carolina Land Title Association, as general counsel for the NCLTA, as a member of the General Statutes Commission’s Drafting Committee for the New Condominium Act, as a member of the General Statutes Commission’s Lien Law Drafting Committee, as the NCLTA and Real Property Section draftsman and negotiator for sales by personal representative reform, as a member of the Construction Law Section Council, and has been the author of several law review articles and other articles on lien law and real property law, as well as a book entitled North Carolina Real Property Mechanics’ Liens, Future Advances and Equity Lines, (2d. ed. 1998); and North Carolina Real Estate with Forms, (Third Edition, 2014, supplemented annually). Mr. Urban received his undergraduate degree and J.D. degree from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
