JOSEPH G. JARRET is an attorney, federal and state mediator, and former major crimes prosecutor, who has been practicing law for over 24 years. He has practiced law before the Tennessee Supreme Court, lower state and federal courts, and before the Florida governor and his cabinet. He has served three different government entities as chief legal counsel, the most recent being Knox County, Tennessee. Mr. Jarret is licensed to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, lower federal trial and appellate courts, the Tennessee Supreme Court, and all lower state courts. He is the chair of the Tennessee Bar Association, City/County/Local Government Law Section; the past-president of the E. Tennessee Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration; the past president of the Tennessee Valley Mediation Association; and has served as the president of two local bar associations. Mr. Jarret has presented blocks of instruction on behalf of the Tennessee Bar Association, The Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts, the Knoxville Bar Association, the Tennessee Municipal Attorneys Association, The Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators, East Tennessee Legal Aid, and other legal organizations. He is a former active duty United States Army armored cavalry officer and former United States Air Force apecial agent with service overseas.
