TODD E. GAUDIN is the principal attorney of On Point Legal LLC, in Baton Rouge. Since 1996, he has practiced in the areas of elder law, probate law, estate planning and adoption law. Mr. Gaudin has been a frequent speaker at CLE seminars on the topics of adoptions, successions, and elder care law. JULIE R. JOHNSON is a life-long resident of south Louisiana. She graduated as valedictorian from Southeastern Louisiana University at the age of 20, having earned a bachelor's degree in English. Ms. Johnson then continued her education at LSU Law School, where she earned a second bachelor's degree in civil law, as well as her J.D. degree. Upon graduation from law school, she worked in a small firm where she was exposed to a variety of practice areas, including insurance defense, personal injury, and estate planning. In short order, Ms. Johnson became a partner at that firm and began to concentrate her practice in the fields of estate planning and elder law. She later established her own firm, where her primary focus is on estate planning, with an emphasis on wills, trusts, special needs planning and asset protection. Ms. Johnson is a board certified estate planning and administration law specialist by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization, and she is also an accredited attorney through the Office of General Counsel/Department of Veterans' Affairs. She also completed the Medicaid Practice Systems program in Syracuse, New York, where she developed a background in Medicaid rules and eligibility for long-term care benefits. Ms. Johnson is also an active member in the legal community, having served as past president of the 21st Judicial District Bar Association.
