DR. CHRIS BOWERS is a chiropractor at Chiropractic Clinic of Iowa. He specializes in workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. Dr. Bowers is a member, past district president, and Compliance Committee chair of the Iowa Chiropractic Society (ICS); and a member of the American Chiropractic Association. He is a certified chiropractic extremity practitioner (C.C.E.P), and utilizes this in conjunction with active care and other aspects of a solid rehabilitative program. Dr. Bowers is also a candidate for receiving the chiropractic sports physician certification (C.C.S.P.) and is certified in functional movement screens (FMS). He has been a successful provider of corporate wellness lectures and health screens to many local businesses looking for ways to help improve the health and wellness of their employees. Dr. Bowers earned his bachelor's degree, with honors, at Western State College of Colorado in professional biology: pre-med emphasis and a minor in chemistry; and received his A.A. degree from Kirkwood Community College.
ANNE MEYER, BSN, RN, LNCC, is president of Med-Law Connection, Inc., a legal nurse consulting firm started in 2005. Ms. Meyer brings more than 29 years of professional nursing experience to her work as a consultant and expert witness. She has worked in both staff and administrative positions in a variety of settings, including hospital, home health care, long-term care, rehabilitation and insurance. Aside from patient care, much of her time has focused on regulatory compliance with Medicare, local and state government agencies, as well as educating staff and implementing processes to ensure safe and quality patient care. Ms. Meyer is board certified in legal nurse consulting, earning the LNCC credential, and past chair of the American Legal Nurse Consultant Certification Board. She has lectured and published on several clinical and legal nursing topics and is currently serving as senior co-editor of the textbook, Legal Nurse Consulting: Principles and Practices, 4th Ed., with publication slated for latter 2018.
DR. MICHAEL K. POWELL, DC, DACNB, is a chiropractic neurologist at Powell Chiropractic Clinic. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Powell serves as an instructor, teaching other doctors how to help patients with difficult neurologic presentations. Over the years, his affiliation with the Carrick Institute, Logan College and Parker College has taken him to lecture on clinical neurology in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Dr. Powell is currently on the Executive Board of the Iowa Chiropractic Society and district director for the ICS. He is a member of the ACA Council on Neurology, International Association of Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation, Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa and the Institute for Functional Medicine. He has contributed to professional publications. Dr. Powell is past chair of the Iowa Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and has served on the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards.
BRUCE L. WALKER is a senior member in the Iowa City law firm of Phelan Tucker Mullen Walker Tucker & Gelman LLP. His practice involves both plaintiff and defense civil litigation. Mr. Walker is a member of the Johnson County, Iowa State and American bar associations. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Iowa and his J.D. degree from the University of Iowa College of Law.
JAMES K. WESTON II is a partner with Tom Riley Law Firm, PLC, where he is a civil trial attorney practicing personal injury and wrongful death law. He is licensed to practice law in Iowa, and before the U.S. District Court of Iowa (Northern and Southern districts) and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit. Mr. Weston is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association and the Johnson County Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Iowa and his J.D. degree from Drake University School of Law.
