Michelle Friery is senior counsel in the Houston office of Kean Miller LLP. She practices with the bankruptcy and financial services group. Ms. Friery has over 15 years of experience representing a wide range of clients in commercial bankruptcies, business litigation, real estate transactions, and appellate matters. She has represented small businesses in several sectors, including energy, manufacturing, construction, staffing, health services, factoring, insurance, software and real estate. In bankruptcy matters, Ms. Friery has represented both debtors and creditors, as well as Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and liquidating plan trustees. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, The Hon. Arthur L. Moller-David B. Foltz American Inn of Court, and International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (Houston Chapter) Financial Secretary. Ms. Friery earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center and her B.A. degree in communication, magna cum laude, from University of Houston–Clear Lake. She is licensed to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit; U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas; U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas; U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas; and U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Texas.
