Gretchen Ramos is the global co-chair of the Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice at Greenberg Traurig. Ms. Ramos has extensive experience counseling organizations in various industries, including digital health, financial services, ecommerce, technology (SaaS), education, and consumer products. She provides clients with practical business advice on compliance with state, federal and global data protection laws, including the new state privacy laws, EU GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, UK GDPR and UK Data Protection Act, Brazil’s LGPD, and China’s PIPL in relation to their websites, product development, internal privacy and security procedures, and advertising practices. Ms. Ramos regularly drafts and negotiates contracts concerning data processing, sharing, licensing and cross-border transfers of data, and assists clients in assessing privacy risks in corporate transactions. She also defends companies facing FTC, State Attorney General, and other regulatory investigations involving privacy, information security, and consumer protection. Ms. Ramos earned her B.A. degree from Hamilton College and her J.D. degree from Northeastern University, and is admitted to practice in California and Massachusetts.
