Dana W. Duncan is the founder of Duncan Disability Law, SC located in Nekoosa, Wisconsin. He has represented thousands of disabled clients throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota in Social Security law, and Wisconsin workers' compensation. In addition to a high volume administrative practice in Social Security, Mr. Duncan has averaged over a hundred federal Social Security appeals over the past five years. He was a speaker at the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives (NOSSCR) convention in San Antonio, Texas, speaking as an expert in his field; and in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Duncan continues to lecture on the law and consult with other lawyers on these issues. He was a speaker at the National Association of Disability Representatives (NADR) convention in Reno, Nevada. He is a member of NOSSCR, NADR, the Seventh Circuit Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association, where he recently has assumed duties as the newsletter editor of the Social Security division. Mr. Duncan has presented several programs previously for National Business Institute on Social Security law. Mr. Duncan is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and Illinois; and before the Federal District Court (Eastern and Western districts of Wisconsin); the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, Fourth Circuit, Sixth Circuit, Seventh Circuit, Eighth Circuit, and Ninth Circuit; as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Affairs. He has more than 25 years of experience in Social Security law and has personally argued more than 25 cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, Chicago, Illinois; and before the Fourth Circuit, Richmond, Virginia, including some landmark Social Security cases such as
Overman vs. Astrue,
Shauger vs. Astrue, and
Varga v. Colvin. He earned his B.A. degree from Beloit College and his J.D. degree from Marquette University.
Richard Frankel is a partner in the law firm of Bross & Frankel. A sustaining member of NOVA and a member of NOSSCR, Mr. Frankel has represented countless clients in Social Security hearings before administrative law judges throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Mr. Frankel oversees the firm’s appellate practice, authoring many hundreds of appellate briefs and obtaining frequent victories in Social Security appeals from the Appeals Council and against the U.S. Attorney’s office, which represents the Social Security Administration in federal appeals. Mr. Frankel additionally oversees the firm's group long-term disability (ERISA) practice, representing clients in coverage denials, terms disputes, and benefit terminations at the administrative level; and litigating adverse decisions in federal court. Mr. Frankel has also represented numerous veterans in matters before the Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Frankel is a member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania bars, and is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit; the district courts for New Jersey, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania; and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Mr. Frankel earned his undergraduate degree at the University of the Arts and his J.D. degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Anne C. Hartwig is senior counsel with Hawks Quindel S.C., where she has extensive administrative law experience, public benefits (Medicaid and Medicare) experience and special education experience. She practices in the areas of colleges and universities, public schools, disability, domestic violence and neglect, ethics, mental health, and Social Security (disability, retirement, and survivors benefits). Ms. Hartwig also was managing attorney at LAW, Inc., where she practiced family law and healthcare law. She was a visiting professor at Temple Law School in Philadelphia and taught healthcare regulation, finance, and bioethics. Ms. Hartwig has done extensive research and writing in the area of bioethics and aggression. She is a member of the Ethics Committee at Meriter Hospital in Madison, and the Progressive Community Services, Inc. Board. Ms. Hartwig earned her B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; her J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School; and her Ph.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Jennifer L. Stonage is an attorney at Bross & Frankel She graduated from Northeastern University in 2006 with a B.S. degree in criminal justice. While attending Northeastern University, Ms. Stonage participated in the co-operative education program, spending time as a research assistant for the Massachusetts State Sentencing Commission and as a judicial intern for the Norfolk County Family and Probate Court. During her time with the Massachusetts State Sentencing Commission, her research was published in both the
Massachusetts State Sentencing Commission’s Survey of Sentencing Practices and the
Governor’s Commission on Sentencing Reform. In May of 2010, Ms. Stonage graduated from New England Law|Boston. While at New England Law, she worked for Greater Boston Legal Services in their Health and Disabilities Unit, handling Social Security and disability cases. She was a member and magister of Phi Delta Phi, chair of the Student Bar Association’s 1L Affairs Committee, a student ambassador to prospective law students, as well as making the Dean’s List. Following her graduation, she worked as an associate attorney with Orlando & Associates, in Gloucester, Massachusetts, where she handled a variety of civil litigation and personal injury matters. While at Orlando & Associates, she ran the firm’s Social Security disability practice, where she handled claims from intake to resolution. Ms. Stonage joined Bross & Frankel in 2018 and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
