He is the author of several of Arizona's employment laws, including the landmark 1996 Employment Protection Act, the constructive discharge law; the 2011 drug testing legislation; and 2012, 2013, and 2016 laws regarding independent contractor determinations. Mr. Selden has been the chair or co-chair of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce Employment Committee for more than 25 years. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for 16 years. Mr. Selden is co-editor-in-chief of several books on employment law, including Arizona and Federal Employment Law: An Employer's Guide, and Employment Verification-Immigration, Form I-9 and E-Verify, published by the American Chamber of Commerce Resources. He has been quoted in numerous publications on employment law and immigration issues, including The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, The New York Times, CNN and FOX News. Mr. Selden earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees from George Washington University, and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University.
