JEAN E. NOVAK is the director at Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky, where she is co-chair of the employer-employee relations practice. Ms. Novak focuses her practice in the areas of employer representation, business services, and public and non-profit organizations. In addition to appearing in court, Ms. Novak often represents clients before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, PHRC, NLRB, OSHA, and the Wage and Hour Division. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Ms. Novak is a fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, a council member of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) Women in the Law Division, and vice chair of the ACBA Medical Marijuana and Hemp Committee. She is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Pittsburgh, where she teaches wages, hours and benefits in Pitt's Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Law Online. Ms. Novak is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (Labor and Employment Section) and the American Bar Association (Labor and Employment Section). She earned her B.S.B.Ad. degree from West Virginia University, her M.S. degree from Carnegie-Mellon University, and her J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
