GREG ERCHULL is an attorney with Erchull Legal Group, where his practice includes real estate transactions and related areas, including the leasing, financing, development, and disposition of commercial, industrial, retail, and residential properties. He represents a broad range of clients in connection with financing and secured lending, real estate development, acquisition, and leasing. Mr. Erchull also is the managing partner of Erchull Development Group. He has extensive experience in representing a variety of corporations, non-profit corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships. Mr. Erchull assists clients in transactional and operational aspects of acquiring, forming, owning, operating, and structuring businesses. He earned his J.D. degree from Marquette University Law School.
CHERI A. HIPENBECKER is general counsel for Knight Barry Title, Inc. She joined Knight Barry Title, Inc. in January of 2007 and has since utilized her skills to help grow the business to be one of the largest title agencies in the mid-west with more than 25 offices in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Michigan. On a daily basis, Ms. Hipenbecker serves as a first point of contact for Knight Barry Title, Inc.’s staff on legal matters. Prior to joining Knight Barry Title, Inc., she had a private practice for seven years, focusing on real estate and business law. Ms. Hipenbecker speaks frequently on topics ranging from what is a title commitment to how to solve complex title issues. She earned her J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School.
ANNE E. WAL is a shareholder in the real estate; construction law; and banking, bankruptcy, and business restructuring sections of von Briesen & Roper, s.c. She represents privately and publicly held businesses, financial institutions, and governmental and quasi-governmental entities in construction, real estate, and commercial finance matters. Ms. Wal's real estate work covers all stages of commercial development, including acquisition; obtaining entitlements; negotiating development agreements, easements, or other documents memorializing property rights; negotiating design and construction contracts; and negotiating leases. She has an extensive background in banking as a former business banker, middle market commercial banking paralegal, and project manager for compliance issues at three of the largest banks in Milwaukee. While at Chase Bank (formerly Bank One), she was a member of a national project team formed to create new versions of middle market commercial loan documents. Ms. Wal's professional memberships include the American and Milwaukee bar associations, and the State Bar of Wisconsin.
December 12 - NeenahJAMES RAMSEYER is an attorney with Merit Title, LLC. He focuses his practice on title insurance, foreclosure, commercial real estate transactions, condominium development and operations. Mr. Ramseyer is a member of the American Bar Association, American Land Title Association, Wisconsin Land Title Association, Illinois Land Title Association, and the Indiana Land Title Association. He earned his master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
KELLY J. SCHWAB is the owner of Schwab Legal Group, LLC, a small firm in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where she practices in the areas of real estate law, business law, corporate law, landlord/tenant law, collections and estate planning. She is a licensed real estate agent and broker in the state of Wisconsin. Ms. Schwab is also a continuing education instructor for real estate licensees in the state of Wisconsin, a professor at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh in the areas of business law and finance, and presents at multiple continuing legal education seminars on topics ranging from real estate and title issues to landlord/tenant law. She serves as general counsel for her family owned business, which specializes in residential and commercial investments, development, and brokerage. Ms. Schwab is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Wisconsin, Winnebago County Bar Association, Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce (Government Affairs Committee), Oshkosh Southwest Rotary and Winnebago County Apartment Owner's Association. She earned her B.A. degree, with honors, from St. Norbert College; her M.S. degree in taxation, with honors, from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee; and her J.D. degree, with honors, from Hamline University School of Law.
STEVEN R. SORENSON is a shareholder with the law firm of von Briesen & Roper, s.c. He is a member of the American Bar Association Law Foundation, chairs the District Three Wisconsin Office of Lawyer Regulation Committee, and serves on the Ethics Committee of the American Bar Association‘s Legal Education Committee. Mr. Sorenson formerly served as secretary and president of the State Bar of Wisconsin. He is a former member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, former president of both the National Conference of Bar Presidents and the Wisconsin Law Foundation Fellows, and a current member of the foundation‘s Board of Trustees. Mr. Sorenson presents lectures throughout the state of Wisconsin on various topics, ranging from real estate law to professional ethics. He earned his undergraduate degree from Luther College and his Juris Doctorate degree from Marquette University Law School. During that time, he also attended American University in Washington, D.C. to study national public policy.
