C. BENJAMIN SALANGO is a member of Preston & Salango, PLLC, where he concentrates his practice in personal injury litigation. He has tried nearly 50 civil jury trials to verdict in areas such as medical malpractice, automobile and trucking accidents, pharmaceutical negligence, and wrongful discharge. Mr. Salango has also argued a number of cases before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. In addition to community service, Mr. Salango frequently represents indigent clients in important cases free of charge. He earned his B.A. and J. D. degrees from West Virginia University.

NATALIE C. SCHAEFER is an attorney with Shuman, McCuskey & Slicer PLLC, where her practice has focused primarily on representing companies and government agencies in cases involving catastrophic loss, wrongful death and employment litigation. Ms. Schaefer also practices energy litigation in cases involving accident investigation and safety compliance. Her published works include, "The Unusual Suspects: Unlikely Players in the Product Liability Arena," Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia and "Administrative Preclusion: Litigation Ammunition?" Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. An Order of the Coif and Order of Barristers graduate from the West Virginia College of Law, Ms. Schaefer was the 2002 Lugar Trial Association Invitational competition winner and also served as an executive board member of the West Virginia University Law Review. She is currently a member of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia, the Defense Research Institute (Product Liability, Insurance Law and Trial Tactics committees) and The West Virginia Bar Association. Ms. Schaefer earned her B.A. degree from West Virginia University and her J.D. degree from West Virginia University College of Law.

PETER H. WAYNE is an attorney with Wyatt Tarrant & Combs, LLP. His main areas of practice are special needs trusts, government benefits preservation and settlement, and traditional estate planning. Mr. Wayne also works with the firm's Health Care Service Team on issues relating to Medicare and Medicaid compliance. He assists clients in handling qualified settlement funds, lien resolution, probate coordination and Medicare and Medicaid preservation and compliance issues. Mr. Wayne also is the author of several articles that concentrate on qualified settlement funds and health-lien subrogation, a few of which have been published in AAJ's TRIAL Magazine , KJS's The Advocate , and the Journal of Taxation and Regulation of Financial Institutions . Additionally, Mr. Wayne often speaks at seminars for National Business Institute, Kentucky Justice and Louisville bar associations. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association ( former board member and section chair), the Kentucky Association for Justice, the National Academy of elder Law Attorneys and The Legal Aid Society's Justice for All Campaign. He earned his B.S. degree from Miami (of Ohio) University and his J.D. degree from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
