STEPHEN M. FOWLER is a founding member of the law firm of Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe, PLLC with offices in Charleston, Beckley, Morgantown and Martinsburg, West Virginia. The law firm of Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe, PLLC is currently celebrating its 20th year anniversary. Mr. Fowler began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Magistrate Judge Donald E. Abram for the U.S. District Court, District of Colorado from 1983 to 1984. His law practice has been focused on insurance defense litigation since 1984. While in Colorado, Mr. Fowler's insurance defense litigation included asbestos, construction and other product liability claims. Upon returning to West Virginia, his practice continued in asbestos which has been a major focus of his litigation experience. West Virginia is a venue of national import in asbestos litigation. Another area of focus for Mr. Fowler's law practice is governmental liability. He has served as counsel to the West Virginia Board of Risk and Insurance Management since 2003. Mr. Fowler has represented numerous state entities and municipalities in West Virginia including West Virginia University in asbestos related litigation. One final area of focus is legal malpractice defense. Mr. Fowler has been successfully defending legal malpractice claims in Kentucky and West Virginia. His trial experience includes more than 50 trials to a jury or the court. Mr. Fowler has argued cases to the Colorado Court of Appeals, the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. ROBERT P. MARTIN is an attorney at the law firm of Bailey & Wyant P.L.L.C., where he focuses his practice on both civil and criminal litigation. Mr. Martin has tried more than 300 jury trials to verdict and has gone to verdict in a jury trial in each of the 55 counties in the state of West Virginia, 19 states other than West Virginia and one foreign country. He has been a frequent lecturer around the state of West Virginia and commonwealth of Kentucky in litigation related continuing legal education seminars. Mr. Martin earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees from West Virginia University and his J.D. degree from West Virginia University College of Law. He is a member of The West Virginia State Bar, Kanawha County Bar and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. WILLIAM L. MUNDY is a partner in the firm of Mundy & Nelson in Huntington, West Virginia, where he practices in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, auto litigation, bad faith, toxic torts, commercial litigation, employment discrimination, sexual harassment and trial practice. Mr. Mundy earned his B.A. degree from West Virginia University and his J.D. degree from the University of Dayton. He is a fellow of the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and a member of the Cabell County, Kentucky, The West Virginia and American bar associations, The West Virginia State Bar, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and American Association of Justice. Mr. Poe began his legal career as a writ clerk at the West Virginia State Supreme Court, and then worked as personal clerk for distinguished Justice Thomas B. Miller from 1981-1982. He was a founding member of the law firm of Shuman, Annand & Poe prior to joining Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe PLLC. During the entire course of his professional career, Mr. Poe devoted his work to insurance companies and their insureds. His practice areas include insurance defense litigation, general liability, trucking law, construction law, products liability, bad faith and state government law. Mr. Poe is admitted to practice in West Virginia; U.S. Court of Appeals 4th Circuit; U.S. District Court Northern District of West Virginia; and U.S. District Court Southern District of West Virginia. He earned his B.A. degree, with distinction, from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, his M.A. degree from the University of Chicago and his J.D. degree, (Order of the Barristers, Law Review) from West Virginia University College of Law, Morgantown. He has taught the Law Institutes Program at the Defense Research Institute, Inc. and has presented for National Business Institute on topics ranging from trial techniques, trucking law, construction law and bad faith. Mr. Poe also has volunteered his time to the community. He has, over the years, volunteered to provide legal services through the state bar lawyer referral telephone service, and participated in seminars and continuing legal education for other attorneys by serving as faculty in seminar presentations. Mr. Poe has served on the Board of Directors of the Charleston Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the First Presbyterian Preschool Committee, as chairman of the Leadership Charleston (Chamber of Commerce Program) to develop and promote community service, as Chairman of ChamPac, the Political Action Committee of the Charleston Regional Chamber of Commerce, as president of the Voluntary Management Assistance Program (a United Way organization) and on the Fund Distribution of the United Way. He has participated in Read Aloud to elementary school children. He currently serves as vice president and former legal counsel for the United States Taekwondo Won (USTW) - a national non-profit focused on preserving the traditional values of the martial art of Taekwondo. Mr. Poe is a member of the West Virginia Bar Association, the West Virginia State Bar, American Bar Association (Torts Section), Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia, Defense Research Institute, Inc., The Judge John A.
