KRISTIN P. FREDRICK is an attorney at Schott, Bublitz, & Engel, S.C. and has been practicing law for 12 years. Ms. Fredrick routinely counsels families on special education matters and represents students in disciplinary proceedings. She has extensive experience defending the rights of individuals before municipal, juvenile, criminal and both state and federal civil and appellate courts. Ms. Fredrick is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Waukesha County Bar Association and Association of Women Lawyers. In addition, she has been a presenter and speaker on special education matters throughout Wisconsin and a contributor to legal publications of the Wisconsin Law. Ms. Fredrick has been selected by her peers as a "Rising Star", as published in Wisconsin Super Lawyers Magazine and Milwaukee Magazine, in both 2008 and 2009, honoring the top 2.5% of lawyers under the age of 40. She earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School and her bachelor of science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. ROBERT T. PLEDL is a partner at Pledl & Cohn, S.C. in Milwaukee. He represents individuals with disabilities and families in special education disputes, expulsion proceedings and cases involving publicly funded disability programs for both children and adults. Mr. Pledl has a particular interest in transition and employment issues. He has been lead counsel in various Federal court class actions and individual cases under the ADA and ยง504 involving physical accessibility of public programs, school harassment, long-term care system funding and municipal zoning obstacles to housing for people with disabilities. Mr. Pledl graduated from the UW-Milwaukee social work program and received his J.D. degree from the John Marshall Law School. SARRIE L. POZOLINSKI is an attorney with Buelow Vetter Buikema Olson & Vliet, LLC, where she defends both public and private employers in lawsuits filed over a variety of labor and employment laws. Ms. Pozolinski defends employers in cases involving discrimination and harassment, wage and hour issues, FMLA, disability discrimination and accommodation, hiring issues, discipline and discharge, unemployment, whistleblower protection and breach of contract disputes. She also does extensive research, writing and public speaking on all of these areas of law. Ms. Pozolinski represents employers in the state and federal courts as well as before a variety of administrative agencies, such as the WERC, NLRB, ERD, EEOC, and other state and federal agencies. Ms. Pozolinski earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin. She is also a certified mediator by the Center for Dispute Resolution. RENAE WATERMAN ALDANA is an attorney with the law firm of Buelow Vetter Buikema Olson & Vliet, LLC. Her practice focuses on special education mediation and litigation, counseling school districts with strategies for preventing and responding to due process hearing requests and appeals. Ms. Aldana advises school districts regarding special education, employment law, student discipline, and general school law matters. She is the author of "Discipline and the Disabled Student: The IDEA Responds," Wisconsin Law Review and "Righting the Wrong: Compensatory Education Under the IDEA," LRP Publications. Ms. Aldana frequently presents at national and statewide seminars and conferences regarding a wide variety of special education, Section 504 and student discipline matters. She is a member of the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association (Past President and Board Member) and the State Bar of Wisconsin. Ms. Aldana earned her B.A. degree, with distinction, from the University of Wisconsin, and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and recipient of the State Bar of Wisconsin Awards for Highest Achievement.
