THOMAS D. KLEIN is a partner with Peckerman, Klein & Van Kirk. Mr. Klein is a 1994 graduate of Marquette University Law School and has been practicing family law ever since. He has been listed in the Best Lawyers of America in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 editions. In addition, he was recognized by Milwaukee Magazine as a Rising Star in the area of family law in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In the 2010 edition of Milwaukee Magazine, he was recognized as a Super Lawyer. Mr. Klein has also been named one of the Top Lawyers for 2010 by the Business Journal serving Greater Milwaukee. He is a frequent lecturer in the area of family law and is the past president of the Society of Family Lawyers. Since 1997, Mr. Klein has served on the Board of Directors of Centro Legal, Inc., including positions as secretary and treasurer. Additionally, he has served as Circuit Court Commissioner for Milwaukee County Judge Kevin Martens since 2008. CHRISTOPHER S. KRIMMER is a senior associate with Balisle & Roberson, S.C. He is an experienced attorney in family law, gay and lesbian civil rights, HIV law, and estate planning. Mr. Krimmer graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School, cum laude, and the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, magna cum laude. He is an adjunct professor for Marquette Law School, where he teaches sexual orientation and the law, pretrial skills, and consumer law. Mr. Krimmer also has taught business and regulatory law at the University of Phoenix-Brookfield Campus. He is frequently requested to speak across the state on legal issues involving estate planning and nontraditional family protections. Prior to joining Balisle & Roberson, S.C., Mr. Krimmer established the Legal Services Program of the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, the first statewide HIV legal services program providing free legal representation to persons living with HIV and AIDS. He has received numerous pro bono awards including the Dane County Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award, the Executive Director's Award from the AIDS Network and the Volunteer of the Year award from the AIDS Network. Mr. Krimmer authored "HIV Confidentiality in Wisconsin," Wisconsin Lawyer, March, 2002; "Business Owners in Divorce," Wisconsin Lawyer, June, 2008; "Representing Gay and Lesbian Clients," Wisconsin Journal of Family Law, July, 2009; and "Wisconsin's Domestic Partnership Law," Wisconsin Lawyer, November, 2009. He also was selected as a Rising Star in the publication Law & Politics. Mr. Krimmer is licensed to practice in the state of Wisconsin, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Federal Eastern District of Wisconsin and the U.S. Federal Western District of Wisconsin. JULIE A. O'HALLORAN is a partner in the law firm of Gagne & O'Halloran, LLC, where she concentrates her practice in family law. She earned her B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her J.D. degree from Marquette University Law School. Ms. O'Halloran was Student Articles Editor for the Marquette Law Review, and recipient of the Zilber Law and American Academy of Matrimonial Law scholarships. She has practiced in the field of family law for 20 years. Ms. O'Halloran's practice includes representing individuals in divorce, paternity, legal custody and physical placement, support, and property settlement issues. In addition, her practice includes the preparation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. More recently, Ms. O'Halloran has obtained extensive training in the field of dispute resolution, including obtaining her certificate from the Marquette University graduate program of Dispute Resolution in mediation. She believes that her years of practice in the field of family law, together with her unique and extensive training in dispute resolution, provide an appropriate forum to help parties facilitate settlement negotiations in all areas of family law. In addition to an expanded mediation and arbitration practice, Ms. O'Halloran also offers unbundled legal services, which include evaluating a client's analysis of a case, advising clients about legal rights and responsibilities, advising about court procedures and other dispute resolution options, reviewing documents, drafting documents, conducting factual investigations, evaluating settlement options, helping clients prepare for negotiations (including mediation and arbitration), and helping clients prepare for court appearances. She also has been selected for membership in Outstanding Lawyers of America, and has been selected as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer each year since 2005. In 2009, Ms. O'Halloran was listed as one of the top 25 Female Super Lawyers in Wisconsin. She is the past chair of the Divorce Cooperation Institute, Inc. and past president of the Society of Family Lawyers. Currently, Ms. O'Halloran is a member of the Milwaukee and American bar associations, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and the Society of Family Lawyers. She is a founding member of the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin, Inc. and the Divorce Cooperation Institute, Inc. Ms. O'Halloran also serves on the Collaborative and Cooperative Law Work Group for the Association of Conflict Resolution and serves as chair for the District 2 Committee for the Office of Lawyer Regulation. She also is a member of the Board of Directors for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. BRIANE F. PAGEL JR. is a lawyer with Krekeler Strother, S.C., where he has been practicing family and consumer law since 2000. Prior to that, he ran his own practice focusing on family, criminal and general litigation. He graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin Law School, and has an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Mr. Pagel writes consumer law case updates, has published articles in Wisconsin Lawyer on creditor/debtor and consumer issues, and has spoken to lawyers' groups and presented seminars on topics ranging from the doctrine of necessaries to enforcement of Wisconsin's mortgage broker and consumer laws. Recently, he was asked to help train mediators for foreclosure mediation in Iowa County, Wisconsin.
