DANIEL D. BARKER is a partner in the law firm of Constangy Brooks & Smith, LLP, where he represents employers in all labor and employment law matters. He has successfully defended clients in discrimination claims before courts and administrative agencies, as well as worked with employers to find creative and cost-effective solutions to their most difficult labor and employment-related legal challenges. Mr. Barker's experience includes guiding employers through union-related challenges and all traditional labor matters, including strikes, collective bargaining, arbitrations, organizing campaigns, elections, and cases before the National Labor Relations Board; defending employers as lead counsel in employment discrimination and harassment cases, including complex class action and high-profile discrimination cases; counseling and advising employers on performance management, disciplinary law compliance issues, internal investigations, and enforceability of post-employment restrictive covenants; helping employers comply with state and federal wage and hour requirements, including collective action matters and investigations involving administrative agencies; training supervisors and managers to implement and administer proper harassment and fair employment policies and practices. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Dane County Bar Association. Mr. Barker earned his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School. ANN BARRY HANNEMAN is a shareholder at Simandl & Prentice, S.C. She acts as legal counsel to management in labor and employment law matters, including representing employers in federal and state employment litigation. Ms. Hanneman has successfully tried federal court jury trials, and regularly represents employers in administrative matters, as well as federal and state court proceedings. In addition to litigation, her practice includes advising on employment discrimination, negotiating separation agreements, handling sexual harassment complaints, drafting employee handbooks and developing policies, and managing wage and hour matters and leave requests in compliance with state and federal law. Ms. Hanneman is a frequent author and speaker on employment law matters and provides management training for companies on such topics as employment discrimination, Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, discipline and discharge, drafting employee handbooks, ADA compliance, and updates on current cases and legislation affecting employment law and human resources. She earned her B.S., with an Integral Honors Degree, from LeMoyne College and her J.D. degree from Marquette University Law School. Ms. Hanneman is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Wisconsin, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for both the Sixth and Seventh Circuits. She is a member of the Labor and Employment sections of the American and Wisconsin (Eastern District) bar associations. DREW J. COCHRANE is a partner with the law firm of Stafford Rosenbaum LLP, where his practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, labor and employment law. In his work, he has appeared before numerous state and federal courts and administrative agencies throughout Wisconsin, including the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Mr. Cochrane's experience includes litigation of contract and other business matters, construction cases and election law disputes. He has successfully litigated numerous labor and employment matters including termination disputes, wage and hour complaints, unemployment compensation cases, disabilities act, and other discrimination cases and non-compete agreements. Mr. Cochrane has significant litigation experience as lead and local counsel on numerous FLSA collective action, and related Rule 23 class action cases. He has regular consultation with employers to avoid future legal problems and effectively represents employers' interests during union representation elections and collective bargaining. Mr. Cochrane was selected by peers as a Wisconsin Rising Star for his work in employment and labor law (2007 - 2010) and was named to In Business Magazine's 2011 class of 40 Under 40. He is co-author of chapters on "Wisconsin Fair Employment Act" and "Family or Medical Leave Act" in the Wisconsin Attorney's Desk Reference, published by the State Bar of Wisconsin. Mr. Cochrane frequently speaks throughout Wisconsin on various labor and employment issues, which include recent presentation topics of Employee Handbooks, the Americans Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and Worker's Compensation. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin (board member, Labor & Employment Law Section), and the American and Dane County bar associations. Mr. Cochrane earned his B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin and his J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. STEPHEN A. DITULLIO is a partner in the law firm of DeWitt Ross & Stevens, S.C. He has successfully prevailed on behalf of businesses securing dismissal on claims involving sexual harassment, racial discrimination, disability discrimination, FMLA compliance, independent contractor classification, and wage and hour claims. Mr. Ditullio provides helpful counseling regarding discipline, terminations, employee handbooks, wage and hour compliance, manager training, hiring, background checks, and other workplace employment law issues. He received awards including Top Lawyer by Madison Magazine,and named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer and Best Lawyer. Mr. Ditullio is affiliated with the State Bar of Wisconsin (Labor and Employment Law Sections), and the American and Dane County bar associations. He earned his B.A. degree from Northeastern University of Massachusetts, his M.A. degree from Syracuse University and his J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. DAVID R. FRIEDMAN practices in Madison in school law and both private and public sector employment law. He has worked extensively in the areas of collective bargaining, contract administration, and employment discrimination. In addition to his extensive lecturing before state audiences, Mr. Friedman has conducted in-house training for school administrators. He spoke at the 25th, 26th and 29th Anniversary Congress of the International Academy of Law and Mental Health. At NSBA's 61st Annual Conference, Mr. Friedman spoke on the topic of first amendment rights associated with employee evaluations. He also spoke at NSBA's 2005 Advocacy Seminar, and has presented at 5 ELA national conferences. Mr. Friedman is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin (Labor and Employment Section, Individual Rights and Responsibilities Section, and Business Law Section), Western Wisconsin District Bar Association, the Civil Trial Counsel of Wisconsin, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the National Public Employer Labor Relations Association, the Wisconsin Public Employer Labor Relations Association, the National School Board Association Council of School Attorneys, and the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association.
