HON. SUE E. BISCHEL is the Circuit Court Judge of the Brown County Circuit Court, Branch III. She was elected to the bench in April 1992, and then reelected to second and third terms in 1998 and 2004. Judge Bischel has presided over all types of criminal, civil, juvenile and family law cases. Judge Bischel served as the Chief Judge of the Wisconsin 8th Judicial District from August 1, 2006 to January 2010. Prior to her position on the bench, she served as Brown County assistant district attorney from 1984 to 1992, and prior to that, she was a staff attorney with Legal Services of Northeast Wisconsin from 1978 to 1980. Judge Bischel received her B.A. degree in English, with a teaching certification, from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and her J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School. HON. THOMAS J. GRITTON is the Circuit Court Judge of the Winnebago County Circuit Court, Branch I. Judge Gritton received his B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and his J.D. degree from Hamline University School of Law. HON. ROBERT HAWLEY is a Circuit Court Judge with the Winnebago County Circuirt Court. Judge Hawley was appointed by Governor Jim Doyle for a term expiring on August 1, 2011. Judge Hawley previously served as a Winnebago County Circuit Court judge from 1982 to 2006. Prior to that, he served as an assistant corporation counsel, assistant district attorney and district attorney in Winnbago County. He also has served as an adjunct law professor at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh; as a mediator in Door County; as a substitute teacher in Oshkosh, Neenah and Door County; and as a reserve judge in eight Wisconsin counties. Judge Hawley earned his undergraduate degree from Lawrence University and his law degree from Villanova Law School. He is a member of the Wisconsin Trial Judges Association, the Winnebago County Bar Association and the Door County Bar Association. HON. JOHN DENNIS McKAY is the Circuit Court Judge of the Brown County Circuit Court, Branch VI. He was elected in 1997, 2003 and 2009. Judge McKay received his B.S and J.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. HON. MITCHELL J. METROPULOS is the Circuit Court Judge of Outagamie County Circuit Court, Branch III. Prior to assuming his position on the bench in September 2007, Judge Metropulos was assistant district attorney for Chippewa, Outagamie and Winnebago counties from 1987 to 2007. He has served as an adjunct teacher at Fox Valley Technical College, Division of Criminal Justice, since 2003. Judge Metropulos received his B.S. degree from Bradley University and his J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. HON. DONALD A. POPPY is a Circuit Court Judge in the Calumet County Circuit Court. Prior to his appointment, Judge Poppy was the Family Court Commissioner in Calumet County from 1979 to 1992. He served as district attorney of Calumet County from 1975 to 1992. From 1974 to 1990, Judge Poppy was in private practice. Judge Poppy has presided over many significant civil cases, including Matthies v. Positive Safety, Co., Schaid v. Spielbauer Fireworks Co. Inc. et al, Woelfel et al v. Homestead Mutual Insurance Company, Brillion Iron Works Inc. v. C.A. Picard Surface Engineering, Everson v. Lorenz and Rouse v. Theda Clark Med. Center, Inc. Judge Poppy received his B.B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and his J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. HON. SCOTT C. WOLDT was elected Circuit Court Judge of Winnebago County Circuit Court, Branch II, in 2004. Judge Woldt is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin (1987 to present), the Winnebago County Bar Association (1991 to present), the Wisconsin Trial Judges Association (Board of Directors, 2004 to present), the Wisconsin Association of Drug Court Professionals (2005 to present) and the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (2007 to present). From 1991 to 2003, he worked for Curtis Law Office in Oshkosh; and from 1987 to 1990, he worked for Schultz Law Office in Green Bay. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and his J.D. degree from Hamline University School of Law. Judge Woldt also is a graduate of the National Drug Court Institute Judicial College and the Wisconsin Judicial College. MODERATOR - RALPH J. TEASE JR. is a shareholder and managing partner of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C., in the firm's Green Bay and Appleton offices. Mr. Tease began his legal career as a judicial intern for the Honorable John A. Decker, Wisconsin Court of Appeals Chief Judge. Following his graduation from Marquette University Law School, he became a tax attorney for a national accounting firm in Milwaukee. Subsequently, Mr. Tease returned to Green Bay and began his career as a civil litigation specialist. He currently handles a wide range of personal injury and wrongful death cases, and has tried cases in courts throughout the state of Wisconsin. Because of his trial experience, the National board of Trial Advocacy has certified Mr. Tease as a civil trial specialist. He also is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Association for Justice. He earned his undergraduate degree from St. Norbert College. MODERATOR - JOSEPH M. TROY is an attorney with Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C., in the firm's Appleton office. After a long and distinguished career as a judge, Mr. Troy returned to private practice with the firm in August 2007. He served as a state circuit court judge and as chief judge of the 8th Judicial District Court in his 20-year career on the bench. He was named Wisconsin Trial Judge of the Year by the American Board of Trial Advocates in 2004 and honored with the State Bar of Wisconsin's Public Service Award in 2003. Mr. Troy is a member of the faculty of the National Judicial College and has lectured nationally for the U.S. Department of Justice Amber Alert training for officers. He has served on the Wisconsin Civil Jury Instructions Committee, was chair of the Wisconsin Committee of Chief Judges (2005 - 2006) and of the Wisconsin Public Trust and Confidence Task Force. He is a frequent lecturer at continuing education seminars for lawyers and judges. Mr. Troy earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Lawrence University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School, Madison. He is a member of the Outagamie County and American bar associations, the State Bar of Wisconsin, the American Association for Justice and the Wisconsin Association for Justice.
