BRENDA B. BRANDT, CPA, is a shareholder with Vrakas/Blum, where she works with closely-held businesses in the manufacturing, service, distribution, construction and not-for-profit industries, and provides business consulting services to a diverse group of clients. As the firm's designated AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center Liaison, Ms. Brandt is responsible for ensuring the firm's ERISA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Practice provides quality service in accordance with professional standards. In addition to leading audits and reviews of corporate clients' financial statements, she works with a number of small business owners who use accounting programs such as Peachtree and QuickBooks. Ms. Brandt is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) - Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center Liaison and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA). She earned her Bachelor of Accounting and Finance, magna cum laude from Augustana College. TERRENCE K. RICE is a CPA in Milwaukee where he practices in the areas of general CPA work with tax, auditing and small businesses. Approximately half of his time is devoted to nonprofits (501C3's and 501C6's) and the other half is devoted to small businesses and individuals. Mr. Rice has lectured on tax related issues for small businesses, health care organizations and nonprofits. He is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs and the Milwaukee Association of Commerce (member, Tax Sub-Committee). Mr. Rice earned his B.B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
