DAVID SEAVER is a senior deputy prosecuting attorney in the Criminal Division of the Office of the King County Prosecuting Attorney. Mr. Seaver has been a deputy prosecutor since 2000, and has tried cases ranging from misdemeanor vandalism to first-degree murder during that time. Since 2006, he has focused on the prosecution of incidents of mortgage, real estate, and securities fraud. Mr. Seaver also serves as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Western District of Washington. He earned his B.A. degree from U.C.L.A. and his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law. ALAN D. SMITH is a partner in the Seattle law firm of Perkins Coie LLP. He co-wrote "Washington Secured Transactions Under Revised Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code: Forms and Practice Manual," 2003 (updated annually) and wrote the chapter on "Ethical Issues in Bankruptcy" in the Washington State Bar Association's Washington Legal Ethics Deskbook (2003, updated 2007). Mr. Smith practices in the areas of commercial and finance transactions, bankruptcy, insolvency and reorganization, and frequently speaks and writes on these topics. WINTERS is a member of the law firm of McNaul Ebel Nawrot & Helgren, PLLC, where his practice focuses on a wide range of real estate and business transactions predominantly involving the financing, acquisition, development, management, restructuring and disposition of commercial real estate projects and branded assets. Mr. Winters also counsels pension fund advisory firms and tax-exempt investors on a variety of issues relating to the structuring of business transactions and all aspects of real estate investments. He has been designated as a LEED Accredited Professional by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings.
