RICHARD CAYS is a senior title researcher and curative title specialist with Stewart Title Company in King County. Mr. Cays has 43 years of experience in title and escrow in both King and Pierce counties. He is also a licensed real estate clock hour instructor in the state of Washington, where he teaches title and escrow related classes for agents' continuing education requirements. Mr. Cays has also written 12 real estate clock hour classes that he presently teaches in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. He started in the title industry on the night posting crew that built the King County Title Plant, which became the computerized plant used by several title companies in King County. In addition, he was an examiner, title officer, plant manager, limited practice officer and is currently a recording specialist in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Thurston counties. MICHAEL D. DAUDT is a founding member at the law firm of Terrell Marshall & Daudt PLLC, where he handles litigation involving construction defects in condominiums and commercial buildings, homeowner association issues, LLC and partnership disputes, alcoholic beverage distribution and regulation, insurance coverage, condemnation, land use, environmental and real property matters. He also handles real estate transactions and business formations. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the State Bar of California. Mr. Daudt was named "Rising Star" by Washington Law & Politics magazine from 2003 through 2005. He also is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars in several areas including construction defects, insurance and homeowner associations. Mr. Daudt earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Abilene Christian University and his J.D. degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley. He was associate editor of the California Law Review. JESSICA M. JENSEN is a principal of Jensen Kokis Erwin Law in Olympia. Ms. Jensen's practice emphasizes real estate and business. She is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law; the University of Vermont, where she earned her B.A. degree in economics; and Woodbury College, where she received her Certificate in Paralegal Studies. Ms. Jensen is a former title examiner and practiced in New England where attorneys still search titles themselves and issue title opinions to clients and title insurers. She is also a former real estate manager for the Washington State Department of Transportation, where her staff acquired and managed real estate for highway purposes. Although she has tried numerous real estate disputes involving title, easements, boundaries, adverse possession and eminent domain, Ms. Jensen focuses on finding creative solutions to real estate disputes without litigation. She is a frequent speaker on real estate and business topics, and taught for many years in the University of Washington's paralegal contract management certificate programs. Ms. Jensen serves as trustee and vice president for the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce and chairs the Legislative Committee.
