MAGNUS R. ANDERSSON is an attorney with Hanson Baker Ludlow Drumheller P.S. in Bellevue, Washington. Mr. Andersson's practice focuses on real estate law, construction law and appellate law. He is a member of the Washington State, King County and East King County bar associations. Mr. Andersson earned his B.A. degree from Lindenwood University and his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from Gonzaga University School of Law. NEIL M. FOX is a 1985 graduate of the University of Illinois School of Law. He holds a master's degree in labor and industrial relations, also from the University of Illinois. Mr. Fox's practice has centered on criminal defense at the trial, appellate and post-conviction levels. From 1985 until 1989, he was a staff attorney at the Washington Appellate Defender Association. From 1989 until 2002, Mr. Fox was a staff attorney and supervisor at the Seattle-King County Public Defender Association. In 2003, he became of counsel to the small Seattle criminal defense firm of Cohen & Iaria. Mr. Fox began the Law Office of Neil Fox, PLLC in January 2010. In his more than 24 years of practice, he has handled hundreds of felony and misdemeanor appeals and trials, including capital cases. MICHAEL B. KING is a principal with the Seattle law firm of Carney, Badley Spellman, P.S. For nearly 20 years, Mr. King has concentrated his practice on appellate litigation. He has successfully represented clients on a wide variety of matters before the Alaska, California, and Washington Supreme courts; all divisions of the Washington Court of Appeals; and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 9th and 11th Circuits. Mr. King has argued more than 100 cases to full merits panels; his victories include: Braaten v. Saberhagen Holdings, 198 P.3d 493 (Wash. 2008) (duty to warn); Bank of America v. Prestance Corp., 160 P.3d 17 (Wash. 2007) (equitable subrogation of real estate refinancing); Foxworth ex rel. Darden v. Kia Motors Corp., 2005 WL 2888216 (11th Cir. 2005) (double wrongful death); Hamoui v. Ashcroft, 389 F.3d 81 (9th Cir. 2004) (immigration involving Convention Against Torture claims); and Lund v. San Joaquin Valley R.R., 71 P.3d 770 (Cal. 2003) (FELA). Mr. King is a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, and a founding member and past president of the Washington Appellate Lawyers Association. He has chaired the Appellate Advocacy Committee of the Chicago-based Defense Research Institute, and is a member of the Executive Committee of the American Bar Association's Council of Appellate Lawyers. Mr. King regularly chairs and speaks at local and national appellate practice seminars, and has authored numerous articles and papers on various aspects of appellate practice, including serving as a co-editor for the third edition of the Washington Appellate Practice Deskbook. He has held an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell since 1998; has been selected as an appellate "Super Lawyer" by Washington Law and Politics magazine every year since 2001; and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for appellate law since the publication's inaugural listing of Washington State appellate lawyers in 2007. Mr. King earned his A.B. degree from Harvard College and his J.D. degree from the University of Washington School of Law. DAVID J. LENCI is a partner in the Seattle office of K&L Gates LLP. He is an experienced litigator who has represented clients from both the public sector and the private sector in complex civil litigation and appeals for more than 30 years in state and federal court. Mr. Lenci's practice emphasizes business litigation, including intellectual property, unfair competition and other business torts and securities litigation. He was a federal prosecutor with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice for more than five years and served three years as the chief civil litigator for the Snohomish County Prosecutor's Office. Mr. Lenci has served as a mediator, an arbitrator and pro tem judge. He also has volunteered as a fee dispute arbitrator with the Washington State Bar Association. Mr. Lenci earned his B.A. degree from Dartmouth College and his J.D. degree, with high honors, from the University of Washington School of Law. HON. ANN SCHINDLER was appointed to the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division 1, in January 2002, after 11 years as a King County Superior Court Trial Judge. Judge Schindler was appointed to King County Superior Court in April 1991. While on the Superior Court, she served in many leadership capacities. Judge Schindler was a member of the Court's Executive and Budget committees for 11 years, the first Chief Judge at the Regional Justice Center in Kent, and the Chief Asbestos Judge. She was elected Assistant Presiding Judge in 2000, and Presiding Judge elect in 2002. Judge Schindler also served on the King County Domestic Violence Steering Committee and has been a member of the Gender and Justice Commission since 1997. In 1998, she was honored as the Outstanding Judge of the Year by the King County Bar Association and received the Vanguard Award from Washington Women Lawyers in 1999.
