JAMES F. DART has represented consumer and small business debtors in bankruptcy since 1986 and currently is an attorney with the Tacoma law firm Shoemaker & Dart. P.S., Inc. Mr. Dart was an intern for the Honorable Robert Skidmore, Bankruptcy Judge, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Washington. He has served on the Local Bankruptcy Rules Committee and was elected as the District Representative to the Creditor-Debtor Section of the Washington State Bar Association. Mr. Dart has been a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys since 1992 and has contributed to lobbying efforts in congress to improve debtors' rights. He frequently speaks at legal education seminars and to professional groups on bankruptcy issues and has published materials at seminars for both the Washington State Bar Association and National Bankruptcy Institute. Mr. Dart's practice includes clients in Pierce, Thurston, Grays Harbor, Lewis and Mason counties. He meets with clients in Tacoma and Olympia. JAMES E. DICKMEYER is a sole practitioner in Kirkland, Washington. For the past 20 years, his practice has emphasized debtor/creditor matters, including Chapters 7, 11 and 13 for debtors and creditors, non-bankruptcy workouts and small business liquidations. Mr. Dickmeyer is an arbitrator for the King County Superior Court, a volunteer attorney for the King County Bar Association Debt Clinic and Eastside Legal Assistance Program, and was previously a mentor for the University of Washington School of Law. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the King County Bar Association and the East King County Bar Association. Mr. Dickmeyer is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. He earned his B.A. degree from the College of William & Mary and his J.D. degree from the University of Puget Sound School of Law. KATHLEEN V. SHOEMAKER has more than 12 years experience as a bankruptcy attorney. Along with James Dart, she currently represents debtors in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies with the Tacoma law firm Shoemaker & Dart, P.S., Inc. From 2004 to 2010, Ms. Shoemaker worked as a staff attorney for the Chapter 13 Trustee, David M. Howe, in Tacoma. In 1995, she first worked with James Dart as a legal intern with the Fircrest law firm Miller & Dart, P.S., Inc., while attending Seattle University School of Law. After clerking with the U.S. Trustee during law school, Ms. Shoemaker joined Miller & Dart, P.S., Inc. as an attorney, working there until 2001. Following that position, she was an attorney with Gloria Nagler at Nagler & Associates in Seattle for two years. Ms. Shoemaker has spoken for the Washington State Bar Association's Nuts & Bolts on bankruptcy presentations in the past. STEN E. SORBY is a sole practitioner in Seattle, Washington, where his practice is devoted exclusively to representation of individuals and businesses in bankruptcy related matters. Prior to opening his own practice, Mr. Sorby spent nine years as a staff attorney in the office of the Seattle Chapter 13 Trustee. He is a graduate of Seattle University School of Law. Mr. Sorby is a regular volunteer at the King County Bar Association's Debt Clinic and is chair of the King County Bar Association's Bankruptcy Section.
