DR. ANDREA BLOUNT brings the art and science of psychological insight to the litigation arena. Her background in counseling psychology gives her a unique perspective into juror decision-making, allowing her to identify the emotional and personal connections of a case and translating that knowledge into juror-sensitive trial strategy. Dr. Blount has consulted with attorneys across the country conducting pre-trial jury research, jury selection, witness preparation, post-trial juror interviews, and trial observations. She has worked on a range of litigation matters including medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, employment issues, intellectual property, commercial litigation, fraud and family law. Dr. Blount also has consulted on multiple pharmaceutical product liability defense cases, contributing to a string of successful defense verdicts, one of which the National Law Journal named a Top-10 defense victory. ALAN S. FUNK is an attorney with Wechsler Becker, LLP in Seattle, where he limits his practice to family law. He is a registered Title 26 (family law) Guardian Ad Litem, and volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Mr. Funk's presentations include "Working with Pro Se Litigants as Opposing Parties" at WSTLA Family Law Section CLE (2006) and "Evaluating the Evaluator - Preparation for and Deposition of the Parenting Evaluator" at KCBA Family Law Section Hot Topics CLE (10/5/07), Advanced Family Law Practice for Paralegals; "Drafting Child Support Orders and Worksheets" (8/14/08); "Financial Settlement Strategies for Your Divorce Clients"; and "Getting A Divorce Case Off to the Right Foot" (upcoming 12/11/08). He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Washington and his J.D. from Willamette's College of Law. Mr. Funk is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the State Bar of California. He serves as the current chair of the King County Bar Association's Family Law Section,has served on the Family Law and Personal Injury Pattern Interrogatories Subcommittees and the Ad Hoc Family Law Local Rules Committee (2006 to 2007); and is a member of Superior Court Children and Family Facilities Master Plan Working Group (2007 to 2008) among other committees. DR. WENDY HUTCHINS-COOK is in private practice. She is regularly appointed by the court as a parenting evaluator, and testifies as an expert in child and family matters. Dr. Hutchins-Cook presents regularly for the King County Bar Association and is co-author in the current Title 26 Guardian ad Litem Manual, 2009. She earned her Ph.D. degree from the University of Washington. Dr. Hutchins-Cook earned her board certification in forensic psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology. She serves on the Clinical Faculties of the University of Washington Department of Psychology and the Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. MICHAEL W. LOUDEN has been practicing law in Seattle since 1995. He focuses primarily on family law matters, but also has handled property and landlord- tenant disputes, personal injury cases, bankruptcy issues, and criminal defense cases. Mr. Louden is a certified mediator and serves as a mediator and arbitrator in family law cases. He also serves as a King County Family Law Commissioner Pro Tem. Mr. Louden has been appointed as a Guardian Ad Litem and court appointed special advocate to represent children's interests in domestic relations matters. He is a past chair of the King County Bar Association Family Law Section and has a long-term involvement in the King County Bar Association's family law legislative agenda. Mr. Louden has handled a number of family law appeals. He is the editor of the Washington Lawyer's Practice Manual Family Law Section. Mr. Louden was educated at Earlham College and the University of Washington School of Law. PAULA E. PRATT is a partner with Pratt and Morrison, P.A., in Winter Park, Florida, where her main areas of practice are marital and family law, property rights litigation and municipal law. She has spoken on issues related to domestic law and child support for The Florida Bar and other professional organizations. Ms. Pratt earned her B.S. degree, with honors, and her J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Florida. She is a member of the Orange County and American bar associations, and The Florida Bar. NANCY S. WEIL has practiced family law for 17 years. She also serves as Title 26 Guardian Ad Litem and volunteer mediator and was a family law mentor for the Seattle King County Bar Association. Ms. Weil taught the Family Law Section at the University of Washington paralegal studies program. She is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Law. Ms. Weil's business experience includes senior management positions in nonprofit health and social service agencies in Seattle and New York and in the private sector for Josiah Wedgwood and Sons, the British tableware manufacturer. She chairs in the development committee for Family Law CASA. Ms. Weil has served on the board of directors of the King County Dispute Resolution Center.
