PAUL L. CROWLEY has been a practicing attorney since 2001 and has worked exclusively in insurance defense since 2003. He is a graduate of the University of Washington and earned his J.D. degree from University of Washington School of Law. Mr. Crowley is a member of the Edgewood City Council. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Tacoma/Pierce County Bar Association and the Washington State Defense Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Crowley spent nine years with the law firm of Mary E. Owen & Associates as staff counsel for GEICO Insurance. He recently joined the firm of Krilich, LaPorte, West & Lockner, P.S. SHAUN HUPPERT is an attorney at Huppert Law Firm PLLC. He practices in the areas of insurance subrogation, insurance litigation, and creditor's rights throughout the states of Washington and Oregon. Mr. Huppert primarily represents insurers in subrogation matters in property, medical PIP, product liability, construction and maritime. He is an A.M. Best certified insurance attorney for insurance subrogation and is a member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals. Mr. Huppert earned his B.A. degree from the University of Washington and his J.D. degree from Seattle University School of Law. JEFFREY M. THOMAS is a partner with the law firm of Gordon Tilden Thomas & Cordell LLP, where he practices in the areas of civil litigation, complex litigation, and trial practice. For the past 20 years, he has practiced in the trial and appellate courts of the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Thomas maintains a broad-based civil litigation practice, including personal injury, class actions, products liability, insurance coverage, professional liability, securities, drug and medical device litigation, trade secret, and other types of complex civil matters. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Pennsylvania State University and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Washington. Mr. Thomas is a member of the American Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, the King County Bar and the Defense Research Institute. LISH WHITSON is an attorney in Seattle, Washington. In more than 35 years as a trial lawyer, Mr. Whitson has represented individuals, businesses, plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts. His civil practice includes medical malpractice, health law, consumer class action, complex commercial litigation, personal injury, bad faith, wrongful death, employment and construction law. Mr. Whitson also has an active practice as a neutral, serving as both an arbitrator and a mediator. He has been elected to membership in the American College of Trial Lawyers, the Litigation Counsel of America and the American Board of Trial Advocates, and presently serves on the ABOTA National Board. He is a past trustee of the King County Bar Association, a past governor of the Washington State Bar Association and a past member of the ABA House of Delegates. Mr. Whitson currently serves as a special hearing officer in bar disciplinary matters and co-chairs, with a Supreme Court justice, the WSBA Local Rules Task Force. He is a recipient of the King County Bar's Pro Bono Award and the Lawyer of the Year Award. For the last decade Mr. Whitson has been selected by his peers as a Washington State Super Lawyer in Law & Politics magazine. He has lectured and written extensively on trial practice, evidence, ethics and professionalism, and is a regular speaker for National Business Institute on evidence, expert witnesses, ethics and medical negligence. Mr. Whitson also is adjunct faculty in trial advocacy at the University of Washington School of Law, and has taught on the national and regional faculty of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Washington School of Law. Mr. Whitson is licensed in both Washington and Oregon. BRUCE WINCHELL is a shareholder in the Seattle law firm of Mills Meyers Swartling, where he practices in the areas of business litigation, insurance coverage litigation and professional liability litigation. Mr. Winchell primarily represents policyholders in insurance coverage disputes. He has lectured for various professional groups on litigation and insurance coverage issues. Mr. Winchell is a member of the Washington State Bar Association (former chair of the Litigation Section) and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Winchell earned his B.A. degree from Southern Illinois University and his J.D. degree from the University of Washington.
