ANGELA DEAMICO is a supervisor of State and Local Tax for McGladrey offices and has been with the firm for two years. Prior to joining McGladrey, Ms. Deamico spent eight years as an revenue auditor with the Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR). At McGladrey, she is directly responsible for the State Accountability for Excise Tax (SAFE-T) System and provides clients with state and local tax consulting. She is involved with various industries, including manufacturers, hospitals, financial institutions, construction, engineers, internet businesses and professional services. Ms. Deamico received her B.A. degree, in accounting, from Central Washington University. CARLA M. DEWBERRY is the owner of Garvey Schubert Barer, where she is in private practice of law. Her primary areas of focus include general corporate law, tax law, and health care law with an emphasis in regulatory compliance (federal and local) and reimbursement issues. Ms. Dewberry practices primarily in the areas of business transactions, health care law, and taxation, Medicare and Medicaid coverage and reimbursement planning, developing compliance plans, reimbursement planning, defending reimbursement audits and recoupment appeals, consulting on fraud and abuse issues, advising on issues of corporate law, designing joint venture operations, providing legal guidance on physician recruitment issues, drafting employment contracts, partnership planning, designing physician-hospital relationships, as well as general contract drafting and contract negotiating. Ms. Dewberry is a member of the Washington State, King County and National bar associations and the National Health Lawyers Association. JERRY H. HAMMOND is the director of State and Local Tax for McGladrey. He advises clients on their Washington state excise tax reporting and represents clients and their businesses before the Washington State Department of Revenue. Mr. Hammond ensures clients pay no more Washington state tax than they are legally obligated to pay and that they take advantage of all Washington state tax credits and deductions. Prior to being employed by McGladrey, Mr. Hammond spent 27 years with the Washington State Department of Revenue, where he held the position of Manager of Audit Standards and Procedures. The Audit Standards and Procedures department performs the final review on all audits issued by the department's audit division. Mr. Hammond received his B.A. degree in business administration, history, political science and education, from Central Washington University. KIRSTEN MORITZ-BAUNE joined the firm three years ago and is the manager of State and Local Tax for McGladrey's practice. Before joining McGladrey, Ms. Moritz-Baune was an auditor for the Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR) for nine years. At McGladrey, she leverages her DOR experience and provides clients with state and local tax consulting. Ms. Moritz-Baune is involved with clients in various industries including manufacturing, retail, financial institutions and constructions. She received her B.S. degree, in accounting, from Central Washington University.
