DAVID E. BRESKIN is a member of the Seattle firm of Breskin, Johnson & Townsend. He practices in the areas of employment, consumer protection and civil rights litigation. In the employment area, Mr. Breskin provides counseling and litigation services for managers, executives, and individual employees, as well as private and public employers, on issues involving discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, employee handbooks, pension and medical benefits, severance and non-compete agreements, and wage and hour disputes. He earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from Stanford University and his J.D. degree from the National Law Center at George Washington University. Mr. Breskin is a member of the King County, Washington State and American (Labor and Employment Section) bar associations. He also is a former member of the Board of Directors of George Washington University Law School. Mr. Breskin has written four volumes of the Washington Civil Procedure Practice Book; Volumes 9, 9a, 10 and 10a, as well as the annual supplements to these volumes. He has lectured on trial procedures and employment law for the Washington State Bar Association, Washington Association of Businesses, and other public and private groups. HEATHER L. CARR PROUDFOOT is a shareholder with Stafford Frey Cooper. She represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex cases and streamlined litigation at state and federal trial and appellate court levels, as well as in arbitrations and early mediation. She has obtained significant damage awards and settlements for plaintiffs, as well as de minimis settlements and defense verdicts for defendants. For more than a decade, Ms. Carr Proudfoothas efficiently and aggressively represented local and national companies in a wide variety of business, construction, employment, product liability, toxic tort, civil rights and other disputes. Her clients benefit from her innovative efforts to obtain resolution in the initial stages of conflict. She knows that economical and efficient solutions are a top priority for her clients. DAVID J. LENCI is a partner in the Seattle office of K&L Gates LLP. He is an experienced litigator who has represented clients from both the public and private sector in complex civil litigation and appeals for more than 30 years in state and federal court. Mr. Lenci's practice emphasizes business litigation, including intellectual property; unfair competition; and other business torts and securities litigation. He was a federal prosecutor with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice for more than five years and served three years as the chief civil litigator for the Snohomish County Prosecutor's Office. Mr. Lenci has served as a mediator, an arbitrator and pro tem judge. He also has volunteered as a fee dispute arbitrator with the Washington State Bar Association. Mr. Lenci earned his B.A. degree from Dartmouth College and his J.D. degree, with high honors, from the University of Washington School of Law. LISH WHITSON is an attorney in Seattle, Washington. In more than 35 years as a trial lawyer, Mr. Whitson has represented individuals, businesses, plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts. His civil practice includes medical malpractice, health law, consumer class action, complex commercial litigation, personal injury, bad faith, wrongful death, employment and construction law. Mr. Whitson also has an active practice as a neutral, serving as both an arbitrator and a mediator. He has been elected to membership in the American College of Trial Lawyers, the Litigation Counsel of America, and the American Board of Trial Advocates, and presently serves on the ABOTA National Board. He is a past trustee of the King County Bar Association, a past Governor of the Washington State Bar Association, and a past member of the ABA House of Delegates. Mr. Whitson currently serves as a special hearing officer in bar disciplinary matters and co-chairs, with a Supreme Court Justice, the WSBA Local Rules Task Force. He is a recipient of the King County Bar's Pro Bono Award and the Lawyer of the Year Award. For the last decade, Mr. Whitson has been selected by his peers as a Washington State Super Lawyer in Law & Politics magazine. He has lectured and written extensively on trial practice, evidence, ethics and professionalism, and is a regular speaker for National Business Institute on evidence, expert witnesses, ethics and medical negligence. Mr. Whitson also is adjunct faculty in trial advocacy at the University of Washington School of Law and has taught on the national and regional faculty of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Washington School of Law. Mr. Whitson is licensed in both Washington and Oregon.
