LISA K. BARTON is an attorney with O'Brien, Barton, Joe & Hopkins PLLP, where her areas of practice include areas include domestic relations (dissolution, paternity, parenting plans, child support, domestic violence, collaborative law), guardianship, and Title 26 Guardian Ad Litem. BROWN practices with Wolfstone, Panchot & Bloch, PLLC, in Seattle, Washington. The focus of Mr. Brown's practice is on issues arising out of marital separation and dissolution, meretricious relationships, parenting disputes and related matters. He has served as a court appointed Guardian ad Litem and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) representative for minor children in a variety of dissolution and parentage cases. LISA DUFOUR is a senior associate at McKinley Irvin. She spent 15 years with the Family Support Division of the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office representing the best interests of children. As a King County Prosecutor, Ms. Dufour filed more than 4,000 child support modifications and over a thousand paternity cases, successfully argued a family law case in federal district court, and gained extensive family law trial experience. Ms. Dufour has received numerous accolades for her creativity and innovative approach to practicing law. She has spearheaded cases on collection of child support from pension accounts, retirement plans, probate, insurance proceeds, foreclosures, civil suits, and trust funds. In 2008-2009, her team collected an unprecedented $1.3 million in child support from these unusual cases. She received her B.A. degree, in Speech Communication, magna cum laude, from the University of Washington and her J.D. degree from the University of Washington School Law. Ms. Dufour is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Family Law Section and the King County Bar Association, Family Law Section. She is admitted to practice with the United States District Court, Western District of Washington and the United States Supreme Court. RUTH LAURA EDLUND is a partner in the law firm of Wechsler Becker, LLP, where her practice areas include family and divorce law. Her practice emphasizes complex dissolutions and nonmarital breakups. Ms. Edlund clerked for the Honorable James M. Sprouse, United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She received her A.B. degree, magna cum laude, with honors, from Bryn Mawr College and her J.D. degree from Columbia University, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Ms. Edlund is a member of the King County Bar Association (past chairperson, Family Law Section) and Washington State Bar Association (chairman, Family Law Executive Committee). She is admitted to practice law in New York State as well as Washington State and a frequent speaker at CLEs. KIM SCHNUELLE is an experienced, strategic negotiator and litigator with McKinley Irvin, where she focuses on complex child support, paternity, judicial enforcement cases, and divorce. Ms. Schnuelle obtained her law degree in 1992 from the University of Washington School of Law. Upon graduating, she accepted a position in the Family Support Division of the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, where for nearly two decades, she negotiated and litigated thousands of cases, and assisted a countless number of families and individuals in resolving their family law matters. In addition to her time in the courtroom, she also has a keen interest in writing and public speaking. She is an active leader and participant in numerous statewide legal education seminars, and continues to publish many well-regarded articles in county and state legal publications. She received her B.A. degree, in Paleontology from the University of California at Berkeley, her M.A. degree, in Biology, from the University of California at Los Angeles and her J.D. degree from the University of Washington School of Law. She received the American Jurisprudence Award for Criminal Law and Conflicts of Law. Ms. Schnuelle is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the King County Bar Association. She is a past volunteer with the King County Bar Association Bilingual Spanish Legal Clinic and a volunteer for the Lifelong AIDS Alliance. SUSAN J. SHULENBERGER received her B.A. degree from the University of Washington and her J.D. degree from Seattle University. She has been admitted to the Washington State Bar Association since 1982. Ms. Shulenberger has focused her practice on complex domestic matters for the last 12 years. She previously practiced in the areas of commercial litigation and transactional law. Eight of her practice years were in large law firms. In November 2005, Ms. Shulenberger opened her own practice in the Pike Place Market. Recently she spoke on Conflicts of Interests at the September 22, 2009 Washington State Bar Association Family Law Ethics seminar in Seattle. She is currently revising the Washington State Bar Association Family Law Deskbook chapter entitled "Use of Professionals - Experts and Consultants." Ms. Shulenberger is currently the Vice-Chair for the Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection Board. She is the past chair of the Washington State Bar Association Character & Fitness Board. She has also served on the Washington State Bar Association Rules of Professional Conduct, Judicial Recommendation and the Professionalism Committees. He is the co-chair of the ABA International Law Section's Family Law Committee and the co-author of the International Law chapter of the Washington State Bar Association's Family Law Deskbook. Mr. Starks' practice concentrates on international divorce and family law issues as well as on representing clients in divorce cases involving the protection, valuation and distribution of significant assets or business interests.
