JOHN R. CHRISTENSEN is a partner with the law firm of Messina Bulzomi Christensen, where his areas of practice include medical negligence, government supervision and severe motor vehicle collisions, including a recent $3 million settlement in a trucking case and $3.5 million for a negligent roadway design and maintenance case. For the past eight years, he has been selected by his peers as one of Washington state's "Super Lawyers." Mr. Christensen is a member of the National Million Dollars Advocates Forum, which is limited to trial lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skill, experience and excellence by achieving a trial verdict, award or settlement of one million dollars or more and also was recently voted as one of Washington's top plaintiff personal injury lawyers. Mr. Christensen served as an assistant attorney general for the state of Washington from 1989 to 1994, representing the Department of Corrections and the Department of Labor and Industries. He earned his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Puget Sound School of Law. Mr. Christensen was recently elected as a trustee of the Pierce County Bar Association and chairs the Judicial Qualifications Committee. At the state level, he has served on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. Mr. Christensen is a prestigious Eagle member of the Washington Association for Justice State, where he serves on the Continuing Legal Education Committee and provides strategic advice to other attorneys on complex personal injury cases. DARREN A. FEIDER is a member of the Seattle office of Williams Kastner. His practice involves general employment litigation of wrongful discharge and discrimination claims, the drafting of employment and consulting contracts, non-compete agreements and severance packages for both employees and employers, and conducting investigations for private and public employers in response to EEOC and Washington State Human Rights Commission complaints. He has represented employers in unpaid wage actions, and he also handles general commercial litigation. Mr. Feider earned his B.A. degree from Washington State University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of San Diego, where he was a member of the The University of San Diego Law Review. He wrote the article, "Federal Whistleblower and Retaliation Laws." He co-presented, "Tips and Traps in Employment Agreements," Williams Kastner's Labor & Employment Breakfast Seminar, Seattle, Washington, February 28, 2007. Mr. Feider presented, "Privacy in the Workplace," The Seminar Group - Continuing Legal Education: 8th Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference, Seattle, Washington, August 24-25, 2006. He also presented, "Disability Discrimination Under the Washington Law Against Discrimination," FMLA & Workers' Compensation Issues, Tacoma, Washington, March 28, 2006. He is licensed to practice in Texas and Washington State. He has also been admitted to the U.S. District Court for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington. Mr. Feider is a member of the Texas Bar Association, as well as the Washington State Bar Association's Litigation Section. He also is a member of the Labor & Employment Section of both the American and King County bar associations. JULIE ANNE HALTER is a partner in the Seattle office of K&L Gates LLP. Her practice includes general business litigation, and since 2001, managing large, document-intensive cases, specifically those involving electronic discovery. As a litigation attorney, Ms. Halter understands the important role that proper document production methodologies and management play in litigation. Her experience directing discovery teams in document-intensive litigation has allowed her to develop and expand skills in managing large document cases, especially those involving electronic discovery. She is a frequent writer and speaker on electronic discovery issues. Ms. Halter is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the King County Bar Association. She has been named a Rising Star by Washington Law & Politics each consecutive year since 2003. She received her B.A. degree, cum laude, from the University of Washington and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law where she was managing editor of the Seattle University Law Review. LISA M. HAMMEL is a trial attorney with the Bothell law firm of Williams & Williams, P.S., whose practice emphasizes landowners in condemnation actions and parties involved in real estate, contracts and construction litigation. Prior to joining William & Williams, P.S., Ms. Hammel litigated medical malpractice, construction defect, land use and toxic tort cases. She serves as an arbitrator for the King County Mandatory Arbitration program and, in 2008, received an "Exceptionally Well Qualified" rating for an Everett Court Commissioner seat. Prior to practicing law, Ms. Hammel was a tribology engineer for Texaco, and a manufacturing engineer for General Motors in Detroit. She earned her B.S. degree in engineering from General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan, and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law. KASEY D. HUEBNER is a shareholder with Mills Meyers Swartling who represents clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the State of Washington. Ms. Huebner works on a variety of litigation matters, but focuses her practice on tort and product liability, employment law, and advising clients on civil procedure issues. She has successfully represented national corporations, local businesses, government entities, and individuals in numerous complex cases. Ms. Huebner serves on the executive committee of the Washington State Bar Association's Litigation Section and edits the Section's newsletter. She graduated with honors from the University of Washington School of Law, where she recently returned to teach civil procedure II as an adjunct professor. Prior to graduating law school, Ms. Huebner also served as an extern for the Honorable Marsha J. Pechman at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. RAY W. KAHLER is a member of the Hoquiam law firm of Stritmatter Kessler Whelan Coluccio where he practices in the area of plaintiff's personal injury law. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Puget Sound and J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School. Mr. Kahler is a member of the Grays Harbor County (president, 1999-2001) and Washington State bar associations, the Washington State Association for Justice and the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. TODD R. SORENSEN is a senior associate in the Seattle office of Williams Kastner. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, employment and education law. Mr. Sorensen has experience representing national and international corporations in a wide variety of complex contract, intellectual property, and business tort litigation. As an employment attorney, he advises and represents cities, schools and private entities on issues ranging from discrimination and retaliation to employee manuals, contract, and trade secrets and litigation. He also represents both insureds and insurers in coverage litigation. Mr. Sorensen has been named a "Rising Stars for 2010" by Washington Law & Politics magazine. He is member of the American Bar Association (Litigation section) (co-chair, Website Subcommittee for the Employment and Labor Relations Law Committee), the King County Bar Association and the Education Law Association. As the 9th Circuit Chair for the ABA Business Torts Committee, he regularly publishes updates on developments in business torts litigation and is a regular contributor to the Northwest Education Law blog and the Northwest Insurance Law blog. Mr. Sorensen earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from St. Olaf College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School. He is admitted to practice in Washington State and before the U.S. District court, Western District of Washington and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
