JAMES E. DICKMEYER is a sole practitioner in Kirkland, Washington. For the past 20 years, his practice has emphasized debtor/creditor matters, including Chapters 7, 11 and 13 for debtors and creditors, non-bankruptcy workouts and small business liquidations. Mr. Dickmeyer is an arbitrator for the King County Superior Court, a volunteer attorney for the King County Bar Association Debt Clinic and Eastside Legal Assistance Program, and was previously a mentor for the University of Washington School of Law. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the King County Bar Association and the East King County Bar Association. Mr. Dickmeyer is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. He earned his B.A. degree from the College of William & Mary and his J.D. degree from the University of Puget Sound School of Law. MELISSA A. HUELSMAN is a sole practitioner in Seattle, Washington, where her practice involves plaintiffs' civil litigation in the areas of predatory lending and mortgage loan servicing, mortgage fraud, foreclosure rescue scams and foreclosure defense. Ms. Huelsman also files consumer bankruptcy cases and litigates adversary actions. She is admitted to practice in California and Washington, and before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern districts of Washington, and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Ms. Huelsman is a member of King County Bar Association and participates in its Volunteer Legal Services Program by handling numerous predatory lending and foreclosure rescue scam pro bono cases. Ms. Huelsman was named King County Bar Association's "Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year" in 2006, and was previously recognized by VLS as one of its "Volunteers of the Year." Ms. Huelsman is a Board member of CENTS, a financial literacy nonprofit, a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates and was previously chairperson of the PLACE Subcommittee of the Seattle-King County Coalition for Responsible Lending. Ms. Huelsman has spoken on the issues of predatory lending, foreclosure rescue scams and foreclosure defense at numerous continuing legal education and community functions, including sessions for the National Consumer Law Center, NACA, the Washington State, Oregon State, and numerous county bar associations, King County Housing Authority, Urban League, Fremont Public Association/Solid Ground, International District Housing Alliance, HomeSight and many others. Ms. Huelsman served previously on the Board for the King County Bar Bulletin and has written numerous articles for that publication. Ms. Huelsman earned her B.A. degree from California State University at Fullerton and her J.D. degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles. DAINEN N. PENTA is an attorney with the Seattle law firm of McKisson Sargent & Oliason, P.S. Mr. Penta has represented more than 700 individuals and families in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy cases both before and after BAPCPA. He occasionally represents creditors in connection with bankruptcy cases. In addition to debtor-creditor work, Mr. Penta assists clients of McKisson Sargent & Oliason, P.S., with estate planning, business formation and planning, and general civil litigation. Selected for inclusion by Washington Law and Politics to its list of 2010 "Rising Stars," his professional history includes experience as a solo practitioner, as a partner with an emerging Seattle firm, and as a senior associate with a national bankruptcy law firm. Mr. Penta is a graduate of Whitworth College and Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College (now Lewis & Clark Law School). He earned a Certificate in Federal Tax Law and served as co-Articles Editor of Lewis and Clark's international law journal. He earned a Master of Law in Taxation in from the University of Washington School of Law. Mr. Penta is active in bar leadership, serving as president of QLaw and The GLBT Bar Association of Washington, from 2008-2009. He serves as 2010-2011 president-elect of the Washington Young Lawyers Division (WYLD). Mr. Penta co-chaired the 2010 Statewide Diversity Conference, a day-long conference and collaborative effort of Washington's minority bar associations. He is also active in the ABA and holds leadership positions in the ABA Young Lawyers Division.
