JAIME ALLEN is a member at Ogden Murphy Wallace, PLLC, where she practices in the firm's Litigation Department. She specializes in complex litigation and is a co-founder of the firm's Appellate Practice Group. Ms. Allen earned her B.A. degree from the University of California, San Diego and her law degree, cum laude, from the Boston University School of Law, where she was an editor of the Boston University Law Review and a G. Joseph Tauro Distinguished Scholar. After law school, she worked at Goodwin Procter LLP in Boston, before moving to Seattle and joining Ogden Murphy Wallace. Ms. Allen's practice focuses on federal court litigation, with a strong background litigating in various Washington State Courts. She has represented business and individuals in cases involving products liability, wrongful death, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, insurance coverage, trademark and patent infringement, unfair trade practices, technology-based and computer litigation, consumer protection, as well as a variety of white collar and general felony criminal matters. Ms. Allen is the author of over a dozen articles for the King County Bar Bulletin and co-author of a chapter on lender liability in a Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education publication entitled Business Torts in Massachusetts. She is serving her second term on the Board of Directors of the Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association, as the lead advisor to a collegiate alumnae group, and has previously served on the boards of two other non-profits in the past. Jaime is a passionate pro bono advocate, having devoted significant time to the pro bono representation of criminal defendants, children with special needs and prisoners in civil rights matters. RANDALL P. BEIGHLE is a shareholder with Lane Powell PC, where he focuses on business and commercial litigation. He has handled matters ranging from franchising, dealership and sales contracts, to energy and software disputes. Mr. Beighle is a frequent lecturer on complex civil litigation topics. His most recent speaking engagement was "Hot Topics and Trends in Damages" for the Washington State Bar Association. Mr. Beighle earned his A.B. degree from the University of California at Berkeley and his J.D. degree from the University of Los Angeles. He is on the Board of Directors for the Issaquah Soccer Club; trustee for The Children's Museum in Seattle; on the Committee of Bar Examiners for the Washington State Bar Association; and a member of the Litigation, Business and Corporations sections of the Franchise Forum American Bar Association. TYLER K. FIRKINS is a partner in the law firm Van Siclen, Stocks & Firkins, where his practice emphasizes representation of individuals against corporations and governmental entities in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, civil rights, employment law and criminal defense. As a Washington Education Association contract attorney, Mr. Firkins frequently represents public school teachers in criminal, discharge and licensing proceedings. He has handled many high profile cases. Most recently, Mr. Firkins won a major Supreme Court case involving the Public Record Act in Bellevue John Does 1-11 v. Bellevue School Dist. #405, 164 Wash.2d 199, 189 P.3d 139 (2008). He also successfully prosecuted a case in which the largest award of sanctions in Washington state history was affirmed on appeal in Roberson v. Perez, 123 Wash.App. 320, 96 P.3d 420 (204). Mr. Firkins also works as a cooperating attorney with the ACLU, and recently filed an Amicus Brief in the voting rights case of State v. Johnson, 148 Wash.App. 33, 197 P.3d 1221 (2008). He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and Oregon State Bar. Mr. Firkins earned his B.S. degree from the University of Washington and his J.D. degree from Seattle University Law School. He is a member of WSAJ, and has served on the WSAJ Legislative Committee and currently serves on the WSAJ Judicial Relations Committee. W. SEAN HORNBROOK is an attorney with Wilson Smith Cochran Dickerson, where his practice focuses on insurance defense. He earned his B.A. degree from Southern Oregon University and his J.D. degree from Seattle University School of Law. Mr. Hornbrook is a member of the Washington State and the King County bar associations. He is a defense member of the Washington State Association for Justice. Mr. Hornbrook also is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. MELISSA O'LOUGHLIN WHITE chairs the Appellate Practice Area at Cozen O'Connor, where she specializes in all aspects of federal and state court appeals. She represents domestic and London Market insurers in coverage disputes and in cases where bad faith is alleged. Ms. O'Loughlin White also devotes a portion of her practice to defending professionals and businesses against complex tort, contract, and statutory allegations in civil lawsuits. She earned her B.S. degree from Santa Clara University and her law degree from the University of Notre Dame. During law school, Ms. O'Loughin White was elected Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Legislation. After law school, she served consecutive terms as a law clerk for the Late Hon. Faye C. Kennedy, the Hon. H. Joseph Coleman (ret.), and the Hon. Marlin J. Appelwick at the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division One, in Seattle. Most of Ms. O'Loughlin White's appellate experience is in state courts throughout Washington and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She also has handled appeals in Oregon, California, Illinois, Indiana, the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon (bankruptcy appeal), and has filed briefs in the United States Supreme Court. Ms. O'Loughlin White is a frequent speaker, writer, and consultant on appellate issues, and is active in a number of bar associations. She chairs the King County Bar Association's Appellate Section and is a Past President of King County Washington Women Lawyers. Ms. O'Loughlin White is a member of the Amicus Curiae Committee of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, and devotes significant amounts of time to screening judicial candidates for appellate and trial courts.
