PHILIP L. BEDNAR is an associate with the Seattle law firm of Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson, PLLC, where he focuses on representing debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases and proceedings. Mr. Bednar also advises debtors and creditors in matters outside of bankruptcy and represents clients in commercial litigation matters. Prior to joining Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson, he worked at an international law firm in Washington, D.C., where he focused his practice on bankruptcy law, creditors' rights, commercial litigation, and also kept an active immigration law pro bono practice. Mr. Bednar earned his B.S. degree from the University of Virginia and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School where he was managing editor of the Minnesota Law Review. He is admitted to the bars of Washington, the District of Columbia and Virginia. THOMAS S. LINDE is a member of Schweet, Rieke, & Linde, PLLC. He concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate law and creditors' rights and remedies, including real estate transactions and financing; judicial and non-judicial real property foreclosures; real estate contract forfeitures; evictions; and the representation of creditors in bankruptcy proceedings. Mr. Linde earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Washington and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Washington School of Law. He is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars related to creditors' rights and remedies. Mr. Linde is a member of the King County, Washington State and American bar associations, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is a past chair of the Washington State Bar Association CLE Committee, a past chair of the King County Bar Association Bankruptcy Section, and currently a member of the executive board of the Washington State Bar Association (Creditor/Debtor Section). DANIAL D. PHARRIS is a principal with Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson, PLLC, where his main areas of practice are creditors' rights, bankruptcy and reorganizations, and complex litigation. He has lectured to various professional groups on creditors' rights, bankruptcy and related law. He is a member of the King County (member, Bankruptcy Section) and the Washington State (member, Creditor-Debtor, and Real Property, Trust and Probate sections) bar associations, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Mr. Pharris earned his B.A. degree from Western Washington University and his J.D. degree from the University of Puget Sound. STEN E. SORBY is a sole practitioner in Seattle, Washington, where his practice is devoted exclusively to representation of individuals and businesses in bankruptcy related matters. Prior to opening his own practice, Mr. Sorby spent nine years as a staff attorney in the office of the Seattle Chapter 13 Trustee. He is a graduate of Seattle University School of Law. Mr. Sorby is a regular volunteer at the King County Bar Association's Debt Clinic and is chair of the King County Bar Association's Bankruptcy Section. MARC S. STERN is a solo practitioner in Seattle, Washington, where his practice emphasizes insolvency and bankruptcy. He is Board Certified as a Business Bankruptcy Specialist by the American Board of Certification and has been since 1993. He has represented both creditors and debtors in all phases of bankruptcy proceedings. Mr. Stern currently serves as co-chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the GP|Solo Section of the American Bar Association. In this position he has been active in the ABA’s lobbying efforts opposing the Attorney Liability Provision of the proposed Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act (BAPCPA) that he insists on calling the Bankruptcy Abuse Reform Fiasco (BARF). He is also the co-editor of Letters for Bankruptcy Lawyers (ABA Press, 2005). He serves on the ABA’s Task Force on Attorney Discipline of the Joint Ad Hoc Committee of Bankruptcy Court Structure and is a contributing author to its Report on the Scope of Inquiry Required Pursuant to §707(b) as amended. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the District and Bankruptcy Courts for both the Eastern and Western districts of Washington and the Washington State Supreme Court. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Idaho, College of Law and his A.B. degree, cum laude, from Washington University with Majors in Anthropology and Political Science.
