PHILIP L. BEDNAR is an attorney with the Seattle law firm of Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson, PLLC, where he focuses on representing debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases and proceedings. Mr. Bednar also advises debtors and creditors in matters outside of bankruptcy and represents clients in commercial litigation matters. Prior to joining Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson, PLLC, he worked at an international law firm in Washington, D.C., where he focused his practice on bankruptcy law, creditors' rights and commercial litigation, and also kept an active immigration law pro bono practice. Mr. Bednar earned his B.S. degree from the University of Virginia and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was managing editor of the Minnesota Law Review. He is admitted to the bars in Washington, the District of Columbia and Virginia. DANIAL D. PHARRIS is a principal with Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson, PLLC, where his main areas of practice are creditors' rights, bankruptcy and reorganizations, and complex litigation. He has lectured to various professional groups on creditors' rights, bankruptcy and related law. Mr. Pharris is a member of the King County (member, Bankruptcy Section) and the Washington State (member, Creditor-Debtor, and Real Property, Trust and Probate sections) bar associations, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He earned his B.A. degree from Western Washington University and his J.D. degree from the University of Puget Sound. DAVID C. SMITH is the principal of the Law Offices of David Smith, PLLC, in Tacoma, Washington. His focus is on consumer and commercial law, representing individuals and businesses, with an emphasis on debtor representation in bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13 claims. Mr. Smith is admitted to practice before all Washington state courts and in the U.S. District Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Western District of Washington; U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, Ninth Circuit; and U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Simpson College in Des Moines, Iowa and his J.D. degree from Seattle University School of Law. Mr. Smith is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA). He is also the president of Digital Discovery Services, Inc. and acts as a computer forensic examiner, providing discovery support in litigation in both federal and state cases. CHRISTINE M. TOBIN-PRESSER is a partner at the law firm of Bush Strout & Kornfeld. Ms. Tobin-Presser earned her B.A. degree from the University of Washington and her J.D. degree from the University of Oregon. Her representative cases have included representing the debtor in all aspects of its Chapter 11 case, including negotiating DIP financing to allow pre-confirmation payment of approximately three million dollars in maritime liens; completion of the debtor's 183-foot vessel equipped with three deep diving submersibles; as well as confirming a plan of reorganization restructuring more than 18 million dollars of additional prepetition debt. Ms. Tobin-Presser is a member of the King County Bar Association (member, Membership Development Committee; former chair, Creditor-Debtor Section), Washington State Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association (member, Creditor-Debtor Section).
