WILLIAM J. FISK is an attorney in Bennington, Vermont. He practices in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, family law, valuation disputes, and tax aspects of commercial law. In addition to being an attorney, Mr. Fisk practiced as a certified public accountant for more than 25 years. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Business and Tax Law sections, the Vermont Bar Association, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Fisk is a past chairman of the Vermont Board of Public Accountancy and past president of the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has previously served as an adjunct instructor in accounting, finance and tax at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Western New England College and Holyoke Community College. Mr. Fisk earned a B.B.A. degree from American International College; an M.B.A. degree from Western New England College; and a J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Albany Law School of Union University. CLAUDE R. SCHWESIG is a shareholder and is president of Herrick, Ltd. His varied business and education background spans many years. While Mr. Schwesig spent two years studying engineering and family finances, he worked full-time. He spent the next few years in the textile sector in Montreal, where he started in ladies fashion merchandising and marketing. Mr. Schwesig eventually moved into the field of personnel administration and ended up as assistant to the controller of a large Canadian textile manufacturer. During this time, he attended evening university and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, Honors in Business Administration, from Sir George Williams University in Montreal. This was followed by employment as secretary-treasurer of Sutton, Quebec. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Schwesig attended the Université de Neuchâtel in Switzerland, from which he earned a graduate diploma in French Literature. While there, he traveled extensively throughout all of Europe and North Africa. Returning to Canada, Mr. Schwesig established his own practice, focusing on U.S. and Canadian tax situations. During that time, he was publicly elected as a municipal counselor and served his town until moving to the U.S. After winding up his Canadian practice, Mr. Schwesig became associated with Herrick, Ltd., completed a number of courses at the University of Vermont in U.S. taxation and business law, and subsequently received his CPA license in 1987. Later that year, he became a co-owner of Herrick, Ltd. with John Limanek. A significant portion of his practice involves Canadian and U.S. taxes. Mr. Schwesig was on the Board of Directors of the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants, having completed a term as its president. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
