JOHN C. ALTMILLER is a partner in the law firm of Pesner Kawamoto Conway PLC. For more than nine years, he has practiced in the areas of real estate, litigation and contract law. Mr. Altmiller earned his B.A. degree from Villanova University and his J.D. degree from George Mason University School of Law. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar (member, Real Estate Section) and the Fairfax County Bar Association (former co-chair, Real Estate Section). RICHARD E. HAGERTY is of counsel in the Tysons Corner office of Troutman Sanders LLP, where he practices in the areas of commercial litigation, creditor's rights and bankruptcy, and title insurance claims and coverage. He regularly represents secured and unsecured creditors in commercial bankruptcy matters throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Hagerty is admitted to practice in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Bankruptcy Bar Association (District of Maryland), the Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association, the Virginia, Maryland State, Fairfax, Montgomery County, and Maryland bar associations, and the Maryland Land Title Association. Mr. Hagerty has spoken a number of times on bankruptcy issues, most recently as part of a seminar entitled "Advanced Judgment Enforcement in Virginia" presented in Arlington, Virginia in September 2005. Mr. Hagerty earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from Michigan State University and his J.D. degree, with honors, from George Washington University Law School. JOHN P. McGEEHAN is a member of the Fairfax law firm of McGeehan & Associates, PLC, where he practices in the areas of business law, advanced real estate transactions, commercial contracts, bankruptcy and civil litigation. He teaches business courses for service corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) in Washington, D.C. and at Northern Virginia Community College. Mr. McGeehan has been a speaker at continuing legal education programs for bar associations and National Business Institute. He earned his B.A. degree from Kings College and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University, and has completed professional graduate courses at the University of Virginia and the University of California, Los Angeles. Mr. McGeehan is admitted to practice in Virginia and before the U.S. Court of Appeals (4th Circuit), the U.S. District Courts (Eastern and Western districts of Virginia), and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Creditors Bar Association, and the Supreme Court of the U.S. Historical Society. PAULA M. POTOCZAK is an attorney and counselor of law in Alexandria, Virginia. Ms. Potoczak has a broad experience in all phases of civil litigation, environmental and regulatory law. She also has federal court litigation experience under numerous statutes, including the major environmental statutes, Title VII, Administrative Procedures Act, deferral contracting statutes, and the Federal Tort Claims Act. Ms. Potoczak has extensive knowledge of the environmental regulatory scheme, its processes at the federal, state and local levels and its interplay with zoning, land use and property rights issues. She specialized in commercial litigation, including environmental and regulatory compliance counseling and litigation, employment, tort and Bivens litigation, and insurance coverage matters. Ms. Potoczak’s litigation practice includes trial and appeals in administrative, state and federal courts. She is a member of the Environmental Policy Group at Ford Motor Company and City of Alexandria (Environmental Policy Commission). Ms. Potoczak was a panelist for the Fairfax County Audubon Society on the section "How You Can Make Your Own Environmental Impact Statement, Lobbying the Regulators." She also is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, North Carolina State Bar and Virginia State Bar. Ms. Potoczak is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the U.S., 4th Circuit of Appeals, Eastern District of Virginia, District of the District of Columbia and Western District of Virginia. She earned her B.A. degree from Wake Forest University, Wake Forest College and her J.D. degree from Wake Forest University, School of Law.
