MARC E. ALBERT is a partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP, where he practices in the areas of bankruptcy, insolvency, business reorganization and tax disputes and litigation. Mr. Albert works primarily in the bankruptcy area. He has been a trustee in bankruptcy for the District of Columbia for several years. Also, Mr. Albert serves as counsel in a variety of bankruptcy matters for lenders, creditors and debtors in the many bankruptcies in this area. He routinely speaks at continuing legal education programs. For the last several years, Mr. Albert has led the CLE program for National Business Institute's seminar on bankruptcies and foreclosures. He also has participated as an appellate judge in the American Bar Association's nationwide moot court competition. Mr. Albert earned his B.A. degree and J.D. degree, with honors, from George Washington University, and his M.L.T. degree from Georgetown University. Mr. Albert is a Master in the Walter Chandler Inn of Court. ALAN D. EISLER is a principal with Meyers, Eisler & Leatham LLC. Mr. Eisler concentrates in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors' rights, and commercial litigation, representing commercial lenders, leasing companies, private investors, small to large businesses, and individuals. He regularly litigates in the federal and state courts of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. In addition to representing businesses reorganizing in Chapter 11, Mr. Eisler helps clients buy and sell assets in bankruptcy cases. He has extensive experience representing debtors, creditors and bankruptcy trustees in adversary proceedings involving preferential transfers, fraudulent conveyances, and objections to the dischargeability of debts. Mr. Eisler is board-certified in consumer bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification. He is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy topics before bar association groups, and many of Mr. Eisler's speeches focus on the treatment of federal and state tax liens and the ability to discharge taxes in bankruptcy. He has spoken at the American Bar Association's annual meeting on four occasions, and has also made numerous appearances on local television and radio programs. Mr. Eisler is a member of the American Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute and Montgomery County Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Cornell University and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University, Law Center. KATHERINE M. SUTCLIFFE BECKER is a partner with Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP. Ms. Sutcliffe Becker is a member of the firm's bankruptcy and creditors' rights division. She has significant experience in commercial and bankruptcy litigation, including representation of banks and other creditor institutions in protecting their collateral. Ms. Sutcliffe Becker also represents debtors, committees and trustees in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 business bankruptcy cases. She is a member of the American Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, Bankruptcy Bar Association of Maryland and Maryland Women's Bar Association. Ms. Sutcliffe Becker earned her B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Boston College and her J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. MARTIN YEAGER is a shareholder with the Arlington law firm of Bean, Kinney & Korman, P.C., where he is an experienced trial lawyer, concentrating on real estate related matters, including construction, landlord/tenant and creditors' rights bankruptcy. He has lectured on bankruptcy, litigation, mechanics' liens and landlord/tenant matters for clients and commercial business associations.
