EDWIN F. BROOKS is the owner of Edwin F. Brooks LLC, where he focuses his practice in the areas of criminal law, federal law, Social Security disability, juvenile law, and condemnation cases. Mr. Brooks earned his B.S. degree with honors from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Colorado School of Law. Mr. Brooks is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Supreme Court of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. DEAN C. MARCUS is an attorney with the law firm of Marks & Harrison in Richmond, Virginia. Mr. Marcus is an experienced trial lawyer and has tried cases throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia as well as in federal courts. He heads up the Social Security Disability Section for Marks & Harrison and also handles certain types of criminal defense cases. Mr. Marcus is a member of the faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University's Graduate School of Forensic Science where he teaches a class on evidence and expert testimony. He graduated from Gettysburg College and the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law. Mr. Marcus is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR), Richmond Criminal Bar Association (president (2009-2010); vice-president (2008-2009), Richmond Bench-Bar Conference (Criminal Section co-chair (2007, 2008, 2010); conference chairman (2011), Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice and Legal Information Network for Cancer (LINC). JOANNA L. SUYES is an attorney at the law firm of Marks & Harrison where she focuses her practice on wage and hour and Social Security disability. Ms. Suyes graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1989 and received her M. Div. degree from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. A former legal assistant at Marks & Harrison, she received her J. D. degree, cum laude, from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. Ms. Suyes is a member of the, Virginia State Bar (2007, Access to Legal Services Committee), District of Columbia Bar (2008), U.S. District Court, Eastern & Western District of Virginia, Richmond Bar Association, National Employment Lawyers Association, National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives, American Association for Justice, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and LINC - Legal Information Network for Cancer.
