MICHAEL J. CHAMPLIN is a partner in the Richmond law firm of Bowen, Champlin, Foreman & Rockecharlie, where his main areas of practice are collections, personal injury and bankruptcy. Mr. Champlin teaches at the University of Richmond School of Continuing Studies. He has shared his legal knowledge with students as an adjunct professor at the University of Richmond for 20 years. Mr. Champlin is a member of the Richmond, Henrico County and Chesterfield bar associations and the Virginia State Bar. He earned his B.A. degree from Wake Forest University and his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. MICHAEL T. FREEMAN is an attorney for Samuel I. White, P.C., where his practice areas include bankruptcy, creditors' rights, loss mitigation, commercial and civil litigation, foreclosures, landlord/tenant evictions, and title resolution and debt collection. His statewide practice focuses on representation of lenders and creditors in bankruptcy court, including the protection of secured interest, motions and objections practice and bankruptcy litigation. His commercial litigation focuses on resolution of title issues and defects, deficiency actions, debt collection, foreclosure-related litigation and other matters involving real property. Mr. Freeman is a member of the American Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association (Young Lawyers Division), the City of Richmond Bar (Bankruptcy Section) and Phi Alpha Delta. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Elon College (now Elon University) and his J.D. degree from T.C. Williams School of Law, University of Richmond. JENNIFER McLAIN McLEMORE is a bankruptcy attorney who represents predominantly business creditors in bankruptcy matters and commercial litigation. Her recent caseload includes serving as counsel to landlords in large retail bankruptcies such as Circuit City Stores, Inc., Movie Gallery, Inc. and S&K Famous Brands, Inc. Ms. McLemore is the North American program director for the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and a founder and vice-chair of the IWIRC's Virginia Network. She is active in local and state bar organizations, the American Bankruptcy Institute and is part of the Junior League of Richmond. Ms. McLemore earned her J.D. degree from the University of Richmond's T.C. Williams School of Law, and currently practices at Christian & Barton, LLP, in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Douglas O. Tice Jr., Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. SHARON C. STUART is a shareholder with the Boleman Law Firm, P.C., in Richmond. She is the author of "Off the Beaten Path: Representing Consumer Debtors Two Years after BAPCPA" that appeared in the Winter 2008 edition of Docket Call, the newsletter of the Young Lawyers Conference of the Virginia State Bar. Ms. Stuart was a panel speaker at the 2005 Statewide Legal Aid Conference. She has been admitted to the Virginia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of Virginia. Her professional associations and memberships include the Richmond Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar (Bankruptcy Section) and the Metropolitan Richmond Women's Bar Association (where she currently serves as treasurer and is a member of the Judicial Endorsement Committee). Ms. Stuart earned her B.S. degree from James Madison University and her J.D. degree from the University of Richmond Law School. EDWARD S. WHITLOCK III is a partner in the Glen Allen law firm of Lafayette, Ayers & Whitlock, PLC, where he practices in various areas of creditors' rights, collections, creditor bankruptcy, foreclosure and landlord tenant law. He has also been an adjunct professor of law at J. Sargent Reynolds Community College. Mr. Whitlock received his B.A. degree, cum laude, and his J.D. degree from the University of Richmond. He is a member of the Virginia Creditors' Bar Association (past officer and director; president 2002-2003), the Henrico County Bar Association (past officer and director; president 2000-2001), the Hanover County Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association of Real Estate Attorneys and the Virginia State Bar.
