DANIEL C. GASINK is an associate attorney with Johnson Gasink and Baxter LLP. Mr. Gasink is a frequent writer and a licensed continuing education instructor. He is licensed to practice in Virginia and Maryland. Mr. Gasink is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Maryland State Bar Association, the Peninsula Estate Planning Counsel, and the Wealth and Elder counsels. He earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the College of William and Mary. NATHAN R. OLANSEN is a shareholder with Rack & Olansen, P.C., where he focuses his practice on estate planning, individual and entity tax planning, asset protection, and a variety of related transactional matters. He is experienced in drafting and implementing estate planning documents and assists clients with the administration of trusts and estates through the probate process and in private trusts. Mr. Olansen also has extensive experience in individual, trust, estate, and entity income tax compliance and preparation. He assists clients in obtaining private letter rulings from the Internal Revenue Service, and routinely represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities in tax disputes, appeals and litigation. Tax-exempt organizations, including entities ranging from small private foundations to large public charities, also benefit from Mr. Olansen's tax counsel. In addition, he provides specialized legal and tax advice in the areas of business succession planning, business entity start-ups, mergers, acquisitions, corporate re-organizations and divorce. He also is a certified public accountant. NEIL L. ROSE is an attorney in the Virginia Beach law firm of Willcox & Savage, P.C., where he practices primarily in the areas of taxation, business law and estate planning. He was a special honors attorney in the national office of the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Rose has been a lecturer on estate planning, Virginia sales and use tax, S corporations, tax-exempt organizations, and pension tax issues to attorney and accountant groups, including the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Society of CPAs, the CPE Forum of Hampton Roads, the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and National Business Institute. He was a co-draftsman of the ABA Tax Section's second edition of State Taxation of Banks and Thrift Institutions. A graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, Mr. Rose earned his J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and his LL.M. degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Mr. Rose is a member of the Norfolk-Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Virginia (past chair, board of governors of the VSB Tax Section and past chair, VBA Elder Law Section) and American bar associations.
