GEORGE A. CHADWICK is of counsel in the Tysons Corner, Virginia office of Venable LLP. Mr. Chadwick routinely works on transactions that do not fit into a traditional structure and require a cross-disciplinary approach. He has represented clients in connection with the purchase, sale, development, financing and leasing of real property; the purchase and sale of general business assets; the negotiation of credit facilities, including secured real estate loans, asset-backed loans and mezzanine loans; leasing of real property; the negotiation of workouts, forbearance agreements and other amendments to existing business relationships; and the formation of business enterprises generally. Mr. Chadwick also has significant experience representing owners of automobile franchises in connection with the purchase and sale of franchise assets. He performs pro bono legal work for Habitat for Humanity of northern Virginia and the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association. JAMES BRUCE DAVIS is a shareholder with the law firm of Bean, Kinney & Korman, P.C. His areas of practice include title insurance coverage, defense of titles, creditors' rights, mortgage foreclosures, bankruptcy litigation and lender liability defense. Mr. Davis represents title insurance companies and financial institutions in commercial litigation and financial transactions. His transactional experience includes commercial mortgage loans, leasehold mortgage loans, participating mortgage loans and asset based loans. Mr. Davis has lectured in a wide variety of programs concerning real estate law. His publications include "How Litigation Affects Real Estate Titles," The Virginia Examiner, "Know Your Entity: How to Reduce Risk When Insuring Title Granted By Corporations, Other Legal Entities, Trustees and Churches," The Virginia Examiner, Volume 6, No. 2, 2000 and "The Law of Closing Protection Letters," American Bar Association Tort and Insurance Law Journal (Spring 2001). He earned his B.S. degree from the College of William & Mary and his J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. Mr. Davis is past co-chair of The District of Columbia Bar Section on Real Estate, Housing and Land Use and past president of the District of Columbia Land Title Association. ROBERT K. RICHARDSON is an attorney with the Fairfax law firm of Odin, Feldman & Pittleman, P.C., where he practices in the areas of construction law, real estate law, commercial litigation, title insurance and mechanics' liens. He is a frequent speaker on construction and real estate issues for various professional groups. Mr. Richardson earned his A.B. degree from Duke University and his J.D. degree from The George Washington University. He is a member of the Fairfax County Bar, the Virginia State Bar (former chairman, Board of Governors for Construction Law Section), the District of Columbia Bar (member, Litigation Section) and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
