MARYSE C. ALLEN has specialized in family law since 1997 and holds an AV Martindale-Hubbell® peer review rating, placing her at the highest level of professional excellence. She is an equity member of Compton & Duling, L.C., in Prince William County, Virginia. Ms. Allen is a graduate of the University of Virginia, with honors, and obtained her law degree from the University of Richmond's T.C. Williams School of Law. While in law school, she was a member of the Law Review, on the Client Counseling Board and was awarded the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award for Distinguished Trial Advocacy. Ms. Allen currently serves on the Virginia Women Attorney's Association board and The ARC/Insight of Greater Prince William County board. She is the secretary and president-elect of the Prince William Chapter of the Virginia Women Attorney's Association and on the Committee for the Turning Point Suffragist Memorial. Ms. Allen has been recognized for her pro bono service representing victims of domestic violence by Legal Services of Northern Virginia and has volunteered as mentor to award winners of the Beat the Odds program, sponsored by the Prince William County Bar Association. She is a member of the Virginia Trial Attorneys Association, where she serves on the Public Affairs Committee; the Prince William County Bar Association, in which she has been active on the Family Law Committee; the American Bar Association; and the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. CAROLYN M. GRIMES is a principal in the law firm of Lieblich & Grimes, P.C., with offices in Alexandria and Leesburg, where she practices in the areas of domestic relations law, family law, child custody, premarital agreements, divorce, post-divorce and qualified domestic relations orders. She has lectured for the Alexandria Bar Association on COBRA, HIPAA and health-care coverage issues in domestic relations. Ms. Grimes earned her B.A. degree from Johns Hopkins University, her J.D. degree from George Mason University School of Law and her graduate law certificate in employee benefits' law from Georgetown University School of Law. Ms. Grimes is a former president of the Board of Directors for Legal Services Corporation of Northern Virginia and is a member of the Alexandria (past treasurer; member, former president), Fairfax (member, Family Law Committee) and American bar associations, the Virginia State Bar, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Northern Virginia Women Attorneys Association and the Virginia Women's Attorney Association. MICHAEL MILLER is a partner in the Vienna, Virginia law firm of Cole Miller PLLC. He practices exclusively in the area of family law. Mr. Miller is certified as a judge advocate in the United States Marine Corps. He has served as a legal assistance attorney and officer in charge at the Consolidated Legal Assistance Office located at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. While at Camp Lejeune, Mr. Miller was also a defense counsel with the Legal Services Support Section, and appointed as the staff judge advocate to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Following his tour at Camp Lejeune, he was assigned to the Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island. While at the Naval Justice School, Mr. Miller conducted international training on matters of the military and the law for several South American, African and Asian nations. For two years, he was an instructor for the legal assistance section. The command recognized him for his revision of the legal assistance curriculum and materials, creation of training materials for drafting wills and formation of a legal assistance counseling competition. Mr. Miller earned his B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and his J.D. degree from the University of Akron in Ohio. EDWARD V. O'CONNOR JR. is the manager of the law firm of Edward V. O'Connor Jr., P.C., where his main areas of practice are family law, child custody, child support, divorce, spousal support, equitable distribution, business law and entertainment law. He is admitted to practice before the Virginia and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, District of Columbia; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit; and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia. Mr. O'Connor is a previous lecturer in his areas of expertise for the Fairfax Bar Association, the Arlington County Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
