GRACE S. ACOSTA is a litigation attorney with the Salt Lake City law firm of Scalley Reading Bates Hansen & Rasmussen, P.C. Her practice areas include insurance defense, banking, employer workers compensation law, employment law, real estate, torts, appellate practice and domestic work. Ms. Acosta served as president of the Utah Minority Bar Association from 2009-2010, and currently sits as an ex-officio member of the Utah Bar Commission. She sits on the Utah Supreme Court Ethics Committee and hears bar complaints, and is also a judge pro tempe and hears small claims cases in Salt Lake City Small Claims Court. Ms. Acosta earned her B.S. degrees from Auburn University and her J.D. degree, with distinction, from the University of Nebraska School of Law. NATHAN D. ALDER is an attorney with the law firm of Christensen & Jensen, P.C. in Salt Lake City. Mr. Alder is a litigator practicing in personal injury. He is counsel to the Utah Nonprofits Association. Mr. Alder is admitted to practice before the Tenth Circuit and the U.S. District Court of Utah. He earned his J.D. degree and his M.P.A. degree from Indiana University. Mr. Alder clerked with the Honorable J. Thomas Greene, U.S. District Court of Utah. He has presented to the Nonprofit Risk Management Center's Annual Conference on ethics and nonprofits. Mr. Alder is a member of the American Bar Association and serves as vice chair of the Tort and Insurance Practice Section's Federal Rules Committee and the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee. He is a member of TIPS Task Force on Plaintiff's Involvement. Mr. Alder is a member of the Utah State Bar and has served on numerous committees. BRYAN A. LARSON is with the law firm of Larson, Turner, Dalby & Ethington, L.C. in South Jordan, Utah. His practice focuses exclusively on insurance law and representation of injured persons. Mr. Larson has successfully tried numerous jury trials on both the plaintiff and defense sides in both state and federal courts throughout Utah. He is a national member of the Order of Barristers for Excellence in the Art of Courtroom Advocacy. Mr. Larson has been recognized as one of Utah's Legal Elite by Utah Business Magazine and has been named by the American Association of Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Utah. He is past president of the Utah Association for Justice (Utah Trial Lawyers Association) and is recognized in Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in America. Mr. Larson is a graduate of the Advanced Course in Trial Advocacy of the National College of Advocacy and has published an article in the June 2003 national publication, Trial Magazine. He has also co-authored a book entitled, The Physicians Guide: Whiplash and Hidden Soft Tissue Injuries, with Dr. R. Jay Shetlin. Mr. Larson is formerly a chairman of the Utah State Bar Committee on Law Related Education and Law Day, and has served on the Motor Vehicle Accident Subcommittee for drafting jury instructions for use in trial courts throughout the state of Utah. Mr. Larson has taught at numerous continuing legal education seminars and conventions, as well as chiropractic continuing education seminars. He earned his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Brigham Young University and his Juris Doctorate degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.
