DAVID W. MOORE has been in the title and escrow industry for more than 38 years. He has owned and operated title and escrow companies, and has done extensive title and escrow work throughout the state of Utah and in most of the western states. Mr. Moore owns and operates a real estate, title and escrow consulting firm, which includes the Title and Escrow School. His consulting work focuses on specialized real estate research, education and problem-solving efforts. Mr. Moore has been qualified as an expert witness in both state and federal courts. He has been teaching real estate, title and escrow since 1982. Mr. Moore is a qualified instructor for both prelicensing education for insurance and continuing education for insurance and real estate. He is currently a member of the American Land Title Association Education Committee; the American Land Title Association Technology Committee; state Co-Trustee of the ALTA Political Action Committee; and was a founding member of the ALTA Small Agents Forum. Mr. Moore has spoken at many national title association meetings and also has served on various ad hoc committees for the many government agencies. SHANE W. NORRIS is president and general counsel for the Salt Lake City based title company Premier Title Insurance Agency, where he focuses most of his time on the day-to-day operations and supervising title plans. Before Mr. Norris got into the title business he was working in the area of real estate litigation for seven years. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and his J.D. degree from the University of Utah School of Law. Mr. Norris is a member of the Utah Land Title Association, the American Land Title Association, the State Bar of Nevada and the Utah State Bar. He has a title and escrow license with the Department of Insurance for the State of Utah. J. CRAIG SMITH is a founding member of the Salt Lake City firm of Smith Hartvigsen, PLLC, where he practices in the areas of water law, environmental law, land use and litigation. He was a law clerk to the Honorable J. Robert Bullock for the 4th District of Utah, and an assistant city attorney for Park City, Utah. Mr. Smith has written "Local Government Regulation and Bankruptcy: To Stay or Not to Stay," Urban Lawyer 151-176, Volume 21, Number 1, Winter, 1989; "Bankruptcy and Development Regulations," Urban Land, April 1981; "Ethics and the Government Lawyers," Utah Bar Journal, Volume 6, Number 2, February 1993; and "Basic Utah Water Law," Utah Bar Journal, Volume 7, Number 2, February 1994. He earned his A.S. degree, with high honors, from the College of Eastern Utah, his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Brigham Young University. Mr. Smith is a member of the American Bar Association and the Utah State Bar (member of Urban, State and Local Government Law, Natural Resources and Litigation sections). GRETTA C. SPENDLOVE is a shareholder in the Salt Lake City law firm of Durham Jones & Pinegar, PC. Ms. Spendlove has focused her practice in the areas of real estate law, including real estate leasing, title law and easements and development disputes. Her practice also includes commercial law with emphasis on structuring businesses. Ms. Spendlove frequently writes for the Utah Business Magazine. She frequently lectures on real estate and business topics for professional and business groups. Ms. Spendlove earned her B.A. degree from the University of Utah and her J.D. degree from the University of Arizona, where she was a member of the Arizona Law Review. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Utah State Bar (past chair, Business Law Section and Real Estate Section). Ms. Spendlove is a past president of the Women Lawyers of Utah and the National Association of Women Business Owners, Salt Lake Chapter.
