LEWIS P. ADAMS is a sole practitioner in West Jordan, Utah. He has more than 15 years' experience in consumer bankruptcy, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy law. Mr. Adams received his B.A. degree from Chapman University and his J.D. degree from the University of Utah College of Law. Mr. Barrett earned his B.A. degree at Brigham Young University at Provo and his J.D. degree at Whittier College School of Law. He is the former law clerk to U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Lee M. Jackwig, Southern District of Iowa, 2000-2001. He is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA). LAURIE A. CAYTON is a trial attorney with the Office of the U.S. Trustee. From 1995 to 2003, Ms. Cayton was an Assistant U.S. Trustee responsible for monitoring all bankruptcy filings in the State of Utah and supervising trustees and employees of the U.S. Trustee Office in the District of Utah. She received her B.A. in English from Washington State University and her J.D. degree from the University of Utah College of Law. MARK H. HOWARD is an attorney for the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service. He works in the Office of Associate Area Counsel (SBSE), located in Salt Lake City. Mr. Howard received his law degree from Brignham Young University in 1981 and his bachelor's and master's of accountancy degrees from Brigham Young University in 1978. Since joining the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, in 1981, he has tried a number of cases in the U.S. Tax Court. The Department of Justice designated Mr. Howard as a special assistant U.S. attorney in 1985; he has represented the Internal Revenue Service in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Utah since that time. For a number of years, Mr. Howard has had the assignment of legal advisor to the Ogden Service Center, now the IRS Campus in Ogden, Utah. BRIAN D. JOHNSON is the managing attorney of Brian D. Johnson, P.C. in Ogden, Utah. Mr. Johnson represents business and individual debtors in bankruptcy, and devotes about 30% of his practice to family law, including divorce and adoption. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from California State University, Long Beach, and his J.D. degree from the University of Maine School of Law. After graduation from law school, Mr. Johnson served in the bankruptcy department of a major Utah bank, and upon admittance to the bar, joined the firm of Craig S. Trenton, P.C. He formed the firm of Johnson & Trease, P.C., in 2000, and his current firm in 2003. He has been practicing debtor representation for 17 years and family law for eight years. Mr. Johnson is a member of the Utah State Bar Bankruptcy Section, the Utah Bankruptcy Lawyers Forum, and the Utah State Bar Family Law Section. He has been a presenter at the American Bankruptcy Institute's Rocky Mountain Bankruptcy Conference. PHILIP G. JONES is the principal of the Philip G. Jones PC law firm in Orem and he has served as a member of the Utah Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees since January 2004. Mr. Jones has focused his practice on bankruptcy law since 1980. He earned his B.A. degree from Idaho State University and his J.D. degree from Brigham Young University School of Law. Mr. Jones received his initial mediation training from Utah Dispute Resolution in May 1998. He currently is an instructor in the Paralegal Studies Program at Utah Valley University at Orem, and a former instructor of law at Brigham Young University. DAVID L. PINKSTON is a shareholder in the firm of Snow, Christensen & Martineau in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. Pinkston represents a broad range of clients in bankruptcy litigation matters, as well as other contract disputes and complex commercial litigation. He also represents sureties, contractors and owners in a variety of construction-related matters, as well as bankruptcy issues. Mr. Pinkston earned his B.A. degree, cum laude and University Honors, from Brigham Young University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, where he served as the Lead Articles Editor of the B.Y.U. Law Review. He also was a member of the American Inns of Court I. After graduation from law school, Mr. Pinkston was admitted to the Utah State Bar and joined Snow, Christensen & Martineau. He also is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. Mr. Pinkston is a member of the Utah Bankruptcy Law Forum and the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee of the American Bar Association. He has written and presented papers on both bankruptcy and surety issues. LEE RUDD is the principal of the Lee Rudd Law Office in Salt Lake City. He began his private practice in 1970, focusing mainly on small business representation, real estate and a strong emphasis on bankruptcy law. Mr. Rudd is a member and past chair of the Small Firm and Rural Practitioner Section of the Utah State Bar. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Utah and his J.D. degree at the University of Utah School of Law.
