D. SCOTT CROOK is the owner and founder of D. Scott Crook Law, PC, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of employment and labor, commercial litigation, appellate practice, land use, and water. He has spoken on and written articles about employment issues, jury selection, boundary law, road and access law, law firm management and appellate practice. Mr. Crook is the former chair of the Appellate Section of the Utah State Bar. He has been named as among Utah Business Magazine's Utah Legal Elite for Labor and Employment since 2005, was named by the Mountain States Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star in 2008 and 2009, and as a Super Lawyer in 2011. Mr. Crook earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Weber State University and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. While attending law school, he received several awards and distinctions, including the Foundation Press Award for excellence in constitutional law and the Scholarly Writing Award. Mr. Crook is a former editor of the Brigham Young University Law Review and the B.Y.U. Journal of Public Law. Additionally, he was a law clerk to Judge Norman H. Jackson, Utah Court of Appeals and to Judge William H. Woodland, Idaho Sixth Judicial District Court, in Pocatello, Idaho. R. BRUCE FINDLAY is a shareholder and member of the real property and land use planning section with Kirton & McConkie, P.C., in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he practices in the areas of real property law, real estate litigation, natural resources and energy. He has more than 34 years of experience in his areas of practice. Mr. Findlay is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Brigham Young University and his J.D. degree from the University of Utah. Mr. Findlay is a member of the Utah State Bar. JOHN B. STAHL is a registered professional land surveyor in the states of Utah and Montana, currently owning and operating Cornerstone Professional Land Surveys, Inc., and Cornerstone Land Consulting, Inc., in Salt Lake City since 1988. He specializes in surveying land boundaries, mediating and resolving boundary conflicts, performing title research, and providing land boundary consultation services. Mr. Stahl has been qualified as an expert witness and has actively participated in the preparation of amicus curiae briefs to the Utah Supreme Court. He has furthered his mediation education by participating in a state qualified 40 hour training program. Mr. Stahl has been a state chair of the Utah Council of Land Surveyors and a Utah delegate to the Western Federation of Professional Surveyors. He is a adjunct professor for the Salt Lake Community College, where he has taught courses for land surveying students and continues teaching an extensive course in land boundary law for the past 20 years. Mr. Stahl earned his A.A.S. degree in land surveying from Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell, Montana.
