RICHARD A. BEHLMANN is the founder of the The Behlmann Law Firm, LP, and has been practicing law for more than 30 years. Mr. Behlmann's practice covers estate planning, elder law, business counseling and wealth preservation. His recently published book, Avoid the Five Biggest Mistakes in Estate Planning, was written for a general audience to point out common misconceptions and errors in estate planning and asset protection. Mr. Behlmann has engaged in more than $2 billion in acquisitions and business combinations. As part of a corporate benefits development and planning group, he had a key role in the development of the first large-scale managed care medical program covering 90,000 employees. He has been responsible for the design and operation of retirement and welfare benefit plans for one of the largest companies in the world. Mr. Behlmann is a member of the State Bar of Texas, The Missouri Bar, the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, The Texas Bar College. He also served as a member of the Texas Bar Association Securities Law Committee. JASON B. OSTROM is an attorney in the Houston law firm of Ostrom/Sain, LLP, where he practices in the areas of probate, trust law, guardianship, fiduciary litigation, estate administration and guardianship administration. Mr. Ostrom earned his B.A. degree from Loyola University of New Orleans and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from South Texas College of Law. During law school he was an intern for Magistrate Judge Marcia Crone of the U.S. District Court. Following graduation from law school, Mr. Ostrom was a briefing attorney for the Honorable Paul Murphy, Chief Justice of the 14th Court of Appeals in Houston. He is a member of the Houston Bar Association (Probate, Trusts and Estate Section), the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Young Lawyers Association, the Disability and Elder Law Attorney Association and the Attorneys in Tax and Probate and is an editor on the board of The Houston Lawyer. ARIELLE M. PRANGNER is an attorney at Davis & Willms, PLLC, in Houston, Texas. Ms. Prangner practices in the areas of income, gift, and estate tax planning as well business planning and probate and estate administration. She received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M and her law degree, with honors, from the University of Texas. Ms. Prangner is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Tax Court and speaks regularly on topics in her practice areas.
